Daylight savings this weekend, but i'm way ahead of that, already wake up half an hour early now. so i should be on target by sunday.

Morning guys,

killed a pigeon yesterday on my way home.
Ran over it with my car.
It looked like it frigging exploded behind my car. Red mist and feathers all over...
When I got home, I found half a pigeon still stuck in the front grill....
The only thing that gave the origin away were the feathers stuck to my hood.
The rest of the blood and guts were, well, unrecognizable...

Then I realized why that group of cycling children was screaming in horror when they saw me coming the other way..... (No, I was not aiming for them.... I don't do that anymore...:D)

I took pics, will post tonight or tomorrow.

Then they would drink your blood as it seeps through the wreckage and come home happy and purring for yet another successful , albeit indirect kill.

Generally speaking I don't run over animals, but this pigeon needed a lesson in humility.
Its compagnion will fly next time it crosses the road... instead of walking and eyeballing me.
And it better fly high enough, I've been known to "intercept" birds in full flight as well....

there is a rabbit tempting me each morning, it's the size of a small labrador, a huge sucker...
each day it sits on the road where i zoom past, then it buggers off just in time.
It must be a clever rabbit, to survive and get so big... one that has the smarts to not wait for the bumper.. If he ever slips up.. and does wait... i'll have rabbit stew for 8 people... he's that big

Make sure you don't splatter that sucker all over the place.

Rabbits don't splatter like a pigeon, they don't fly, they tend to headbutt the bumper.
Your loss if you don't try my rabbit stew... grandma's recipe, i make it with st-Bernardus #8 beer , which is the commercial version of West Vleteren, same brewing recipe..

I'm sure you stew is good, but I'm not a big fan of rabbit meat, that's all.
I'll have the St Bernardus without the stew then....
I'm all ready for the 4th, do we have any plans yet? What will we be doing??

I once hit a crow or something, right on the windshield. It was too big to fit behind the wiperblade.
I was sure it was coming through the glass.... Luckily it didn't.
It died and went over the car.
Man, that was a hard impact. (Probably because I was doing 65 mph)
It was very early in the morning and I only had one cup of coffee. After I hit it, I was wide awake.....

I'm awake from a nice 4 hour nap, time to hit the research paper I'm writing culminating a year of research I didn't actually do. I take that back- it's covering a portion of the carbon fiber laminate research I've done over the last few years, but it's being written in response to a small amount of funding received from the university that was barely worth my time. So now I get to poop out 20 or 30 pages of knowledge from up here (taps head). The part that is peeving myself off the most is that 3 other people jumped on the credit for this paper as the amount of money we got was proportional to the number of people on the project or thereabouts. I'm writing the paper, they did nothing. The only reason their names are there are so that the extra money goes towards our larger research topic.

I'll end up netting only about $1000 personally out of this one. But we get another $3K in fun-money for racecar research topics, some of which was already spent to develop some black-box electronics like I've talked about before.
