no no that might be fun to watch.

flipper35 05-12-2014 12:26 PM

I suppose if there were the right other people in the room...

Porsche-poor 05-12-2014 12:31 PM

I'm sure we would still be out numbered by the two of them.

flipper35 05-12-2014 12:38 PM

Probably. I should mention the reason they asked my wife about the burns is because she grew up the daughter of a teaching nurse so they thought she would have some knowledge about how to treat a burn, which she does. They thought she was joking when she answered that way.

flipper35 05-12-2014 12:57 PM

By the way, how is Conner doing?

GH85Carrera 05-12-2014 01:04 PM

Howdy Brent.

What part of the country is home for you?

flipper35 05-12-2014 01:49 PM

Southwest Wisconsin. Land of deer, beer and cheese. Unfortunately I don't like the taste of beer but I do like the taste of deer.

We do have some good roads to go play on and Road America is only a few hours away to the north and east of us.

Last I saw of your maps, you haven't been here yet.

Working on a 1971 911T with an E motor. Need to get the wiring harness so I can start it up. Long story short - Guy buys the 911T from a serviceman in Germany and gives it to his daughter. Daughter's boyfriend backs it into a ditch and breaks the transmission but is a mechanic and promises to fix it. They daughter and boy friend break up and while the motor is out, someone walks off with it so it now has no motor or transmission. Been sitting in the guys desert feed lot for years and sells it cheap and we buy a 911 E motor and transmission from a fellow Pelican in San Diego and a local guy is supposed to do the motor work for me. He drags his heels and we move back to Wisconsin. I have a lead on a guy not far away that does a lot of work on the old long hoods so I need to call him about getting the wiring done.

We also have a Cobra replica that is still in primer. Based on how many people ask for rides, it doesn't seem to matter but it needs a full width roll bar and paint to get on the track.

Cool toys!

Yea, I made it to Michigan but we did not have time to head west from there. Maybe a Parade will be in that area sometime soon.

flipper35 05-12-2014 02:11 PM

It has been a while, but I have been to OK a couple times. Some childhood friends live in Broken Arrow and I drove through the pan handle on the way back from California.

We are trying to catch up on your El Camino but aren't making much progress. 180k miles on our 2000 Durango. It has been a pretty good truck really. In the desert we had to have the evaporator for the A/C replaced and at 170k miles the radiator got swapped out and it got a new starter shortly after that. It has the tow package with the big transmission cooler so it has held up pretty well there.

Funny you should ask. Today is a sad day for us. Connor's band is now dead. He has no plans at this point to re-start the same band and has not made a decision yet as to what direction he wants to go. I had to call the last gig the band had for July and decline to show up. :(

flipper35 05-12-2014 02:34 PM

At least he is pretty young yet and has some time. If you were closer our daughter would love to play bass with him just for kicks. They seem to have the same taste in music. She can't understand why all the girls in her class (she is 12 now) like One Direction and Justin Bieber. She would rather be playing Skynyrd, Whiskey in the Jar, or Take My Life from Jeremy Camp.

Porsche-poor 05-12-2014 03:00 PM

bummer on distance cause that is exactly what he was looking for. I think he has given up on kids and will probably look to play with adults from now on. Most kids his age don't like his music or simply can't keep up.

Well, another Monday is behind me. My next Monday isn't 'till June. :)

Sorry to hear about Connor's band, David. I guess you got pink-slipped from your roadie job.

Welcome aboard, Brent. SmileWavy

RKDinOKC 05-12-2014 03:16 PM

Oh boy, fresh meet. Welcome to THE Thread Brent.

GH85Carrera 05-12-2014 03:20 PM

Sad news about the band.

ev'nin all,

another fun day at work.

Another thunderstorm on the way, life just keeps going around and around.

Did you get storms this afternoon Rick?

Rick V 05-12-2014 04:06 PM

Evening Y'all, damn it has felt like a monday all frigging day.
Okay as to David's idea of hanging out at Glen's and offering advice, Oh yes I think that would be a great idea.
Lemmie get warmed up. "Hey Glen would you like to know the easy way to do that", Hey Glen did that hurt when the wrench slipped?, I didn't feel a thing". Okay I'm ready.
I am just so excited to know there are now two people here that I am not allowed to hang out with, Brent's wife and Stijn. It has been determined that if Stijn and I are left alone bad things will happen to many people. I'm good with this but I am not so sure the targets, I mean other people would like it too much.

We had one round come through and trim a few Brazilian trees, and the sky is looking like round two is on the way.

Rick V 05-12-2014 04:11 PM

Oh
Oh
Oh!!!!!
I secured a rather large field to use for skeet shooting when ever I see fit, and it is only four miles away. By stock in Winchester ammo Y'all, there is gonna be a shortage of #8

Rick V 05-12-2014 04:21 PM

Today is one year since I have had a smoke
