Good Thursday morning.

Didn't realize it was coming from Chicago...bought mine online from there as well. Probably the same guys. The car was exactly as described. I flew out and drove it back to Albuquerque. Although I made the deal online, I just couldn't hand over that big a cashiers check without actually seeing the car.

The name of the place is Elite Motors. They have a high rating according to the awards they have gotten from ebay. And have been very good to work with so far.

I've purchased my last two cars on-line. sight unseen, both my 94 928GTS and the 92 Range Rover. On arrival both were more than what I expected.

The 928 GTS, when delivered would have won a concours. The Rover had a new set of tires tossed in the back.

fintstone 08-07-2014 06:43 AM

Different dealer....I think.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2014 06:47 AM

Bet there is a bunch of them in Chicago. Especially used car dealers.

When on hold this one plays Sinatra, lol

GH85Carrera 08-07-2014 07:03 AM

When we are on hold with one of our business suppliers they ALWAYS play the Nutcracker.  It think the recording was from a 78 RPM record they found in grandmas attic and then dubbed it to 8 track then copied to cassette.

Thankfully we have speaker-phones so I can just put them on the speaker and turn the volume down and wait for a human voice.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2014 07:26 AM

If had had hold music I would play the march from the Barnum Bailey Circus. and then when I pick up, yell like the Ring Master announcing an act.

Also like to play this on the car stereo when driving around on ice and snow. Especially if there is traffic. Just makes me smile.

Morning all. One more week!!!!

slodave 08-07-2014 08:09 AM

It's 8:10 and I'm up. I can't believe it! Oh, wait. I've not fallen asleep yet.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2014 09:15 AM

I'm getting old, can't make it past 9am any more when I stay up all day then all the next night. Especially if I sit down to watch TV or a Movie, then it is snoresville for sure. Even woke up slumped over keyboard a few times trying to make a deadline.

If I really want to do a lot in a short time I go to what I call military alert hours, 4 hours awake with 1 hour naps.

Dave lives in the wrong time zone.

Porsche-poor 08-07-2014 09:50 AM

Dave lives by an internal clock that is matched to no one else.

flipper35 08-07-2014 11:59 AM

Maybe that is related to his skills as a craftsman.

Well Elicia and I just got our Mortgage pre-approval and are ready to start house hunting. Hopefully we will be home owners in no time. Can't argue with 3.625% Interest.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2014 12:55 PM

Well, you CAN argue with it, but it's kind of like complaining, don't think it would do much good.

Pitted my Bank against my Credit Union against the Finance Chick at the dealership on the 10 year old Cayenne S.
Bank didn't haggle. Credit Union came up with a "special deal" that was very very good. Finance Chick beat the Credit Union.

By the way, have not heard from the transport company yet.
When I transported the Rover, they called when they picked it up, when they stopped for the night, and about an hour out.
When the dealer transported my 928 GTS, he just showed up and had it unloaded before I knew he was there.

Yea, that is a tad better than my first home loan. I got the great rate of 12.5% for 30 years!

That was a great rate because the average mortgage was 15 to 16% I paid the house off in 21 years. I would have burned the mortgage but it was a handshake deal that I kept track of with my Commodore-64.

When I found the house I wanted to buy it was November 1st. I woke up in my new house on November 10th on my 27th birthday. Broke as hell but I was a home owner.
