I just bit the bullet and said "I do" seemed a much better option at the time, and given the fact that Beth and I have been together longer then the internet has been around I didn't get his advice anyway

That is the route I took as well. It has worked out much better and I have avoided the pain of a fist to the nuts.

About 1/3 of the way back in this thread I thought we should have had Joe set Max up on a blind date and vice versa with film at 11.

Joe, don't forget you can always use the bb in the valve stem caps so she can swing over for assistance.

I am still a rookie in marriage. Just hit 14 years two weeks ago.

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:02 PM

Well Beth and I redid our vowels kind of thing at twenty so I am not sure if we have been together for thirty or only ten. To be honest it only feels like a couple of lifetimes

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:03 PM

Yeah I am not going back to edit that vows thing, it's better this way

flipper35 12-30-2014 02:09 PM

You originally from VA?

GH85Carrera 12-30-2014 02:12 PM

We well may do something romantic like that at 25 years which is coming up fairly soon. The way time flies it will be next week.

As a kid the longest period of time was waiting for Christmas after Thanksgiving. I swear Thanksgiving was last week and somehow it is already the 30th. I forgot to look up and Christmas blew past.

It really does not seem possible that 2015 is just 1.5 days away. 2015! Wow.

Where is my flying car, jet-pack and robot?

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:14 PM

Brent since I refuse to actually claim being born in Philly I will just say yes I am from Va

flipper35 12-30-2014 02:14 PM

Marriage is one of those things that seems like it has been forever and just started yesterday at the same time?

I think as you get older time seems to moves faster, which sucks.

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:17 PM

I will deny ever saying this but, being with Beth has been great. Sure we have had our times and sure I have contemplated just how much lye I would need to cover the smell of rotting flesh but I wouldn't trade her for anything.
Well maybe a good steak dinner but that is all

flipper35 12-30-2014 02:19 PM

Mom is from Sutersville PA. Being born somewhere and raised are different things. Of course if you lived in Philly until you were 35 then...

When I lived in Iowa and California people would ask if I am from that area (Dyersville or El Centro) and I would say I am from Wisconsin, I just live here. Now that we are back in Wisconsin it is easier.

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:22 PM

Well I was born in Philly and moved here when I was 13, so unfortunately I did manage to have a few "ways" become part of me but I did my growing up here in the sticks, so my learning about who and what I wanted to be was done here.
People from up north say I sound like a redneck, people here can tell I am not a native, I feel like I have no country. So I wil move to the DSW and learn really bad spanish and stand ut like a sore thumb even more

flipper35 12-30-2014 02:28 PM

Everyone stands out down there so much it is the new norm. Though you will be a giant among some of the population.

A friend of mine out there loved it because he felt normal height at 5'7". He felt short where he grew up in Illinois. He is now on the Texas border.

flipper35 12-30-2014 02:30 PM

Welp, off to go take the kids to gram and papa's house and go look at a computer for a friend. Again.

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:31 PM

Well I am 6-4 sans boots, 6-6 in work dress AKA with boots on, Yeah i have a feeling I am gonna be a bit of an oddity

I don't think max would have survived that idea.....

Some lady at the gym complained about my language today because she had her 9 year old daughter with her.....owner told her to gtf over it, it's a gym, not a daycare...

I might need to move. .......no husband or ring in sight either. ......I need to just spend more time at the gym... ..or hit myself in the balls with a hammer like the master advises...

Rick V 12-30-2014 02:54 PM

No ring? How the hell close have you already gotten?

HHI944 12-30-2014 03:09 PM

Dude......the only true skill I took from the Army is absolute situational awareness around unknown people....
