Congrats Mike.
That's quite the up date right there.

Porsche-poor 07-21-2011 08:56 PM

Congrats. I wish you all the best

slodave 07-21-2011 09:09 PM

Parlez vous français?

Off to Universal Studios and Disney Studios with the two young ladies from Germany tomorrow. Going to do the back lot tours with Hugh. I do always enjoy those. :)

Noah930 07-21-2011 10:01 PM

Thanks for the invite.

slodave 07-21-2011 10:09 PM

Must've been the margarita... ;)

You do need to try and get the Uni tour. :D

P.S... Hiking, Sat., medical reps...

vas930 07-21-2011 10:56 PM

Morning/Afternoon gents. More floods down here.
Any luck with the parts Dave?

slodave 07-21-2011 11:03 PM

Evening!

Some. Now I managed to pick up a few resistors that I already had... My list is all screwed up. Still missing 1 cap and 3 rectifiers. I think I'll have to find them online. Still can't o much without a functioning main tube anyway. I'll probably pickup some metal for the chassis tomorrow or Saturday, probably stop at friends auto shop early in the next week to trim it to size and bend.

slodave 07-21-2011 11:05 PM

Found the rectifier diode.... Minimum order is 5,000.... Hmm..

vas930 07-21-2011 11:09 PM

I will take 4999 if that helps?

slodave 07-21-2011 11:24 PM

Heh. Actually, it's only US$100 for the lot. I just need 3... I know I can find them. ;) This town is also full of tube amp repair shops. I can probably bribe one into selling a few.

vas930 07-21-2011 11:36 PM

Yep, or swap em for something.

slodave 07-21-2011 11:51 PM

Done for the night. Couple more things soldered onto the board and connections soldered together. Getting to the point where I need the chassis to continue.

vas930 07-22-2011 12:00 AM

Cool, another great project Dave.

slodave 07-22-2011 12:14 AM

Thanks, Vas. Getting back into I sometimes enjoy doing, even though I really don't like technology at all.

porsche4life 07-22-2011 12:21 AM

Evening guys.... Going on a long day tomorrow. Will end up almost to KS, on I35....

I'm thinking this semester is going to mark a turning point, the start of a new, fit, more motivated, better dressed Sid....

slodave 07-22-2011 12:30 AM

You going to actually remember to wear pants to class this semester?

Geronimo '74 07-22-2011 12:37 AM

Hahahaha

Morning guys.

Mike, great news man, j'adore les filles Françaises.
When you visit Europe in December, maybe we can hook up and meet somewhere. With the one they call Stijn too. :)
(I got your PM, torsion tubes will be solid ones, Sway-a-ways from our host, most likely)

vas930 07-22-2011 12:45 AM

What size torsion bars are you running G? or did I miss it.

Geronimo '74 07-22-2011 01:02 AM

Still haven't made up my mind.
I've been reading and reading and although all that is very informative, it doesn't help in determining just what I need to buy.
I asked Mike for advice too. It would be foolish not to since he is a bit of an expert in the matter.

vas930 07-22-2011 01:03 AM

Ok I see 21&27.

vas930 07-22-2011 01:06 AM

If it was me 21mm front & 26mm rear.
Unless your going to track the car all the time.
Just sayn.

Geronimo '74 07-22-2011 01:13 AM

Some even say 22/29 is still pretty comfortable.....

slodave 07-22-2011 01:16 AM

All we know.... Is, they call him the Stig!

vas930 07-22-2011 01:24 AM

Hey G unless your going to track the car all the time 21&26 is still firm.
My dad won the Australian hill climb championship in his 74 2.7 Carrera with stock suspension.
That man drove that car as hard as anyone. He drove it to the track, raced on road tyres and stock suspension, won then we drove home.

vas930 07-22-2011 01:43 AM

Nite all.

slodave 07-22-2011 01:44 AM

Night!

pete3799 07-22-2011 04:22 AM

Wow.....where is everybody this morning?

pete3799 07-22-2011 04:24 AM

Perhaps this will wake someone uphttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1311333857.jpg

porsche4life 07-22-2011 08:41 AM

Morning all. The days start was delayed. We had to change one of the valves and recharge the ac in the 99 dodge. For sone reason in 12yrs and 226k miles, the old ond had developed a leak.

GH85Carrera 07-22-2011 09:28 AM

Stijn!!

Good morning guys. I am still fighting that monster print. It takes two hours to make a file that is NFG. Gerrrrrrr

You know I am busy when the first time I check in is at lunch via my phone. At least tomorrow is the weekend and my vacation starts real soon!

I hate those PC guys. Came in trying to get our AS400 to authenticate users via Active Directory. They couldn't get it to authenticate, but they did succeed it breaking all the other servers using AD for authentication. Even though several NAS quit working it was somehow my fault the Mac file shares quit allowing AD logins.

Geronimo '74 07-22-2011 01:24 PM

Here you go Sir.

I have been fighting with that 5x12 foot print for two days trying to get it to print at high resolution. The main problem I am hitting is the thing exceeds 32,000 pixels in one dimension. 144inches x 300 = 43,200 pixels tall. I need more pixels! The original image has enough resolution to do 600 pixels per inch!

I finally figured out the work around and I have prints coming off the printer! It is a cool print. It covers 60 square feet and the detail is amazing. We can see people walking around, the crap people carry in the back of pickups, the fan blades on air conditioning units, and the path people leave walking across grass. Now I need to do a sales job on the customer and talk them into a really big print, we could do one at 1'=50' and the final print would be 20 feet wide and 48 feet tall! I don't know where you could display it, but it would be cool!

My current print file is 2.6 gigs!

Geronimo '74 07-22-2011 01:59 PM

Porsche-poor 07-22-2011 02:12 PM
