G-man. Every state in the USA writes their own laws for alcohol, and every county and city has its laws as well. To this day there are parts of Dallas Texas that are “dry” you can’t legally buy any type of drinking alcohol in parts of Dallas even 3.2% beer. Oklahoma put the alcohol laws into the constitution so it is a real pain to modify them. Almost half of the counties in Oklahoma are still dry. The point to all of this is 3.2% beer is the only beer you can buy cold in Oklahoma. The good beer is all available in liquor stores but it can’t be above normal room temperature. In the winter if a delivery comes in from a truck that has allowed the beer to get cold the store owner can’t sell it until it has warmed up. Since the major brands of beer want to sell cold beer they only sell 3.2% beer. Just a few blocks from my house is a store that I can drive up to and they will sell me a cold case or even a single beer and I don’t even have to get out of the car! |

You have to drink warm beer (or cold piss) AND are allowed to carry guns??
It's a miracle that everybody isn't shooting at everybody.... :D |
It is amazing the dumb alcohol laws in some states have. In Pennsylvania to buy a beer you have to go to the BEER store and buy a CASE of beer. The good news is you can buy a cold case of Yuengling.
Many states sell beer at almost every gas station. In Oklahoma if you want some wine, you have to go to the liquor store but most states sell it at the grocery store. In Oklahoma liquor stores they can’t sell anything that does not have alcohol in it. So you can’t buy a cork screw, a bag of ice or a bag of chips or a magazine. |
Some crazy laws you have there.
Do you need a permit for a corkscrew or can you simply buy one?? :D Over here, beer is beer, for some almost a religion... (not for me tho) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1284730329.jpg |
Time for my midmorning I feel like **** check in....
Feeling kind of lightheaded and queasy.... Blech... |
G-Man, you have to go someplace besides a liquor store to buy a cork screw in Oklahoma.
Hey I really like your living room! |

Whoo Hoo it is Friday night in the big town. That means laundry night at our house. Party Party!
Tomorrow is a big car show at a park a couple of miles from my house. Everything from T-buckets to tons of duce coupes, and everything else mostly Detroit iron. I am just going to look. It is free so the price is right :) I will post a picture of anything really cool. |
Nope not pregnant. I think it was a combo of over exertion and little food... I'm beat, ran the floor buffer for several hours this afternoon. Will go back with the auto buffer and compound and get the bad spots tomorrow... Hopefully u can duck out early afternoon and put the 944 back on the road. It's ready to have bits bolted back in....
On that note. Good night ladies. |

At the Redondo Harbor tonight chillin on my friend's boat- noticed some bright lights and a lot of equipment off one of the docks- walked over to check it out and what do you know- they were filming an episode of the new 90210.
We walked in like we were supposed to be there and just hung around with the crew for a while. Eventually Alex struck up a convo with what happened to be an associate director (!!) - she said she didn't recognize us and then we fessed up that we lived nearby and were on one of the boats in the harbor when we saw the lights. She was cool with this (as they didn't want any trouble from the boat owners in the harbor) and let us hang. We had some of the food that was out for the crew & actors- again acting like we were supposed to be there. Good times. |
And that's how things roll out here. :)

Sat morning, and I finally have managed a day off. No plans what soever, beautiful weather, and a full tank in the 911. Hmmmmmmmm what to do? I am sure I will think of something.

I washed my El Camino this morning. I always take it for a short trip to help blow the water out of nooks & crannies after the initial drying. The place that I turn around at is right a mile from my house. They had a sign that a garden tour was today there.
Now this is not an ordinary house. It sits on 60 acres or so. It has a driveway that is 1/2 a mile long and a HUGE waterfall next to the bridge and a 5 acre lake. The tennis court is off to one side and the backyard pool has a big waterfall that has a grotto that is a bar area. It is landscaped and the place really looks like a very high end country club. It is just an unbelievable place. I drive by the gate every day but this is the first time I have been on the grounds. It was just jaw dropping. This is a Google maps view of the place. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=35.588469,-97.463778&spn=0.003597,0.006158&t=h&z=18 |
