morning all. Hope everyone is getting better. The boss here is working from home today as he is sick. To bad he was here yesterday all day.

I just love it when the character of the work place changes. we're going through that to a lesser degree at my office. I should be at a two-day management retreat yesterday/today where us middle managers get to hear how effed-up we are. Glad I'm on holiday and that I'm retiring next month.

We are sipping tea and eating fartons. Sounds awful, but it's a pastry that's like a 6-8" long straight donut. iPerfecto!

Great day in the morning!

Took off work today for my eye. Evidently Pepper thinks I absolutely have to be up at this time. She will not let me lay down. She barks and nudges me till I get up, then leaves me alone unless I lay back down.

They gave me some sort of weird new age pirates eye patch to wear. It's clear.

Hope you guys get well soon. They say getting too hot when it is cold out is what causes colds.

The sinuses on my left side have been stuffy since my left eye got blurry. That eye waters all the time like it is trying to clear the blurry.

Richard, there was a long multi decade scientific test about colds and flu done in England. The ONLY way one gets the flu or a cold is from someone else. They tortured thousands of volunteers over the years by putting then in miserable conditions cold and hot conditions. Every possible combination of hot and cold. Not one singe person ever just got a cold from that. Then they would put a nose drop in volunteers. No matter what the level of health or what preventative steps they took, 100% of them got sick.

The results just proved moms were wrong. Weather or hot and cold have zero to do with getting sick. It is always always always caused by some sick person spreading the virus. Always.

It was an interest test in that they used a nice resort with private cabins. The volunteers got a nice vacation with all meals brought to their cabins. All the tissues they used were collected and weighed. The volunteers were totally isolated so a couple could have a romantic free vacation, but you were gonna have the flu or a cold the entire time.

It must have been just too long since I've stayed in a Holiday Inn Express.

Do know I've gotten sick a whole lot less since working from home.
Several people at work have been out sick with the flu in the past month.
Sure hope I don't have to make any appearances till all that has blown over.

I do the flu shot every year since I'm around people all the time. Twice a year, spring and fall, I tend to get sinus infections. Sometimes more often than that. One of these days I'm gonna take a power auger to my sinuses.

When I was in jr high a couple cousins stayed over during Easter break and we slept outside. I had a cold the day they got there and the next day, after sleeping outside under the stars in Wisconsin during Easter, I felt great. Must have been the cold, clear, fresh night air.

Had a friend that got his sinus augered. Helped him a lot. It was the same friend that didn't wake up from the anesthesia after a lumpectomy. The really sad part was that before the operation he was worried about not waking up.

Still mazed and grateful how much better I can see out of my right eye!

Cool. hope what you are seeing is worth the look!

My wife loves her new eyes.

The doc that did her operation is the same guy that I went to see recently for my eye exam.

I told him my wife loves her new vision. He said some women accuse him of adding wrinkles to their face during the operation. ;)

RKDinOKC 02-24-2016 10:19 AM

Just got back from post op checkup and they says my vision should be getting even better over the next week.
Didn't mention how to activate the x-ray vision though.

( • )( • ) Understand the first sports bra was made from two jock straps. And maybe wouldn't have been invented if they had some nipple lube.

The trouble you have to go to just to change the oil...

Porsche-poor 02-24-2016 01:49 PM

Seriously. You are allowed if reporting, which I was not....

Was talking to my best friend, who is a cop, and was on duty. Got rolled up on by an undercover, powder blue Chevy Traverse, which I'm familiar with to make it worse. My buddy told me to keep him on the phone and he'd get me out of it. I told him I'd call him back.

First violation, driving 14 years and I take it as a sign that I need to be more careful. Presented my information, got my $150 coupon, then told the officer who/what...he laughed and told me I should have told him sooner. Told him it didn't make it right and I was going to have to face the music.

Mailed it in this morning.

We gots a little snot factory that now goes to preschool (disease breeding ground).

She had a sleepover last weekend, and little did we know was cooking the cold when she came over. It went full blown the following morning.

I've taken another day off to recover (not sleeping well being full of snot), and there's nothing I hate more than some sick wanker passing on their disease to me at work because they think they are indispensable.

GH85Carrera 02-24-2016 02:44 PM

No doubt rug rats are a big source of that snot bug.
