You really never can work for yourself. There are always those that pay for whatever you sell or do that you are at the mercy of.
|
Yup, my parents joke that they don't have one boss, they have 50. Every client thinks their job is the most important and screams louder every day.
|
I am the boss in around here and have my wife's permission to say so.
My dad had that plaque in his shed. |

We have other customers that send me an email or text message to fly a project again. They never ask the price and send payment within 10 day of invoice. Guess which jobs we jump on the fastest. |
Still really relieved that after the Cadillac surgery I am seeing as well out of my right eye as I did before that stupid nail. Honestly thought I was just going to go blind and was over half way there.

Finished building our garden today. Thuy has been wanting to do this for a while, finally picked up lumber and plants yesterday so I out it all together. Tapped into a sprinkler line so they will get plenty of water on a regular basis. Have herbs and a few veggies in the shelf planter, and tomotatoes, bell peppers, strawberries, and eggplant in the ground box.

It's official, our IT manager and Director are stupid, and don't listen to someone with 25 years of experience managing firewalls and settings for email servers. Our servers are now blacklisted because they won't let me setup the server IP, server name, DNS, and reverse DNS properly for a mail server.

Our servers are now blacklisted because they won't let me setup the server IP, server name, DNS, MX record and reverse lookup properly for out temporary on-site email server.
Oh and our firewall is forcing all email connections out thru a generic public IP with no associated server IP or reverse lookup for that IP to verify the server name. Can you say Blacklisted within and hour? Aargh. |
End of Day one, Getting very frustrated!
Have managed email, DNS, and Firewall stuff since 1991. Including installing and setting up our first exchange 2007 server in 2006 when it first came out. These new IT managers are treating me like I don't know anything and I am the one fixing the incorrect settings and making things work. You know it's bad when users and those managers are calling and emailing me directly instead of the help desk. Thinking I need a drink. And may claim my eye is hurting and start my day tomorrow with some Hydrocodone so I just don't care any more. |
Richard, I thought it was official when they decided to move off premise. At least with the blacklist when you get to the normal IP again it will be easier to fix with the ones that blacklist by IP.
|
We had to move every thing on-premisis so next weekend we can move it all back again to be under a different microsoft online tenant.

Got 20 minutes for a girl to propose to me...leap day. A leap day tradition.
There is a family that each of the 3 kids were born on leap day, 4 years apart. One of them married a girl that was not only born on leap day, but her 2 siblings were also. They say they like celebrating everyone's birthday on the same day. |
Last month

Good Morning all.
I had a customer come in yesterday that was a couple. They own some property and it happens to be half a mile from the path of the last big tornado that hit Moore, OK in 2013. We flew the tornado path in high resolution for a record and to sell to insurance companies. The couple saw one of the big prints we made for the City of Moore and their property was outside the damage area but it was in the photo. The man had the best Skullet I have seen in a while. He was totally bald except for the last inch or so of hair around the back of his head. That hair was at least two feet long. It is a strange sight. We love him since they paid with a check and the job is done. |
morning all. well its a new day and the place looks the same. LOL
|
So far so good.
Of course that is sometimes the last words of a sky diver. |

Good Morning...How ya'll are?
Just a note...If you have a public IP for an email server that emails comes in on, then try to send email from that server on a different public IP it will get blacklisted and no email servers will accept traffic from it. When you put an email server on the internet you contact your ISP hand have what is called reverse lookup set to the dns name of your server. If you type in the DNS name of your server it returns it's public IP, if you type in the IP it gives the name of the server. It is the most basic thing that email servers use to determine they are connecting with a real email server and not a spammer. If he reverse lookup does not match the connection is refused. It's email server 101. Why can't an IT manager or the Microsoft Exchange consultant understand that? |
waiting on the HR people to show up so I can fill out an I9 and prove I can work here.
|
Maybe there are no people now working there for HR?
I feel like there are no people actually working in IT here. |
