Yeah, he is wanting me to change all the mx records and DNS and you aren't supposed to do that until AFTER the migration. Microsoft itself has technotes of the problems you will have if you change the DNS records before the migration is over. Even the consultant doing the migration tonight is saying don't do it yet. Don't understand what this guy thinks he is doing. He is the one doing the common core user count math.

I'm thinking that if it becomes a bigger fiasco with more problems he can say "See, this is why we hired someone to do the migration instead of our Certified Exchange Administrator that said he could do it."

The consultant has gotten to where he just sends the guy microsoft technotes on migration when he asks questions. He keeps coming up with ways HE thinks it Should be done. I've learned as part of my certification it don't matter how you think it should be done or how things work, you do it the microsoft way or it breaks.

I would bet money my brother could drive your old bug to the top of Pikes Peak and then on to Wyoming. He drives a 1954 bug as his daily driver and has for over 30 years. He has never once failed to drive it home. He had done some interesting roadside repairs on it.

It's pretty clear he doesn't know jack about bugs. Keep getting these young folks who don't know jack about cars, don't seem interested in learning, and want to DD a bug. Boy are they in for a surprise....

Brent I would keep it but...

The reason for selling is I just don't have space. Right now I'm paying $200/month for enclosed storage for one car. Just hurts paying that bill every month! Need to downsize!

And this won't be much good with the new gig. It's mostly newer car stuff. Anything made in the last 15 years with a mappable ECU and turbos is really the bread and butter. I will be focusing on VAG products though, so o may need a GTI for a DD...

Although I have been rattling around a plan for a while to build a sleeper TDI new beetle. Maybe even a convertible. That engine holds tons of potential. 400hp beetle?!? I love the diesel torque too!

I have a firm policy of not fixing stupid if there's no significant potential for bodily harm.
If some skinny-jeans wearing barista for life wants to crash and burn, figuratively, by trying to DD a classic, air-cooled vehicle with no mechanical experience....let them. Their money is just as green the rest.

Range day got bumped up to tomorrow. Time for some fun in just a few short hours!

Joe I whole heartedly agree. I'm just waiting for someone to pull 5k out of their skinny jeans!

That's a whole bunch of shifts at Starbucks.

porsche4life 03-09-2016 09:32 PM

Or one session of begging mommy and daddy which more of what I suspect had been happening

HHI944 03-09-2016 09:41 PM

you're right, that's way more likely.

I finally got to chill a few bottles of the last batch of beer I brewed. I was going for something like a Stone Arrogant Bastard, but with more hops. I definitely nailed the more hops, overdid it a little, but it's drinkable. The grains were pretty close, but not quite right.
Overall, it's a good beer, as long as you like AB.

Looking as nice as we've seen pictures, for that price surprised someone hasn't snatched that bug up!

porsche4life 03-09-2016 10:30 PM

I really haven't even had much interest which has shocked me.

RKDinOKC 03-09-2016 10:49 PM

Did you do autotrader and cars.com?

That's where all three of the cars I bought last were from.

Listed the rover on craigslist first and got enough interest in the first week I didn't list it anywhere else. But there were a couple of low ballers and the nigerian car deal to ignore.

Here is the info page I linked to Rover Ad

porsche4life 03-09-2016 11:38 PM

Ya it's on cars, Craigslist, the samba, and I've been posting it to facebook

Sold 3 cars using the build a web page then provide the http address in the on-line ads. What I liked is it produced that buyer that paid my asking price.

I'm betting that this 5hit box Ford Falcon Commodore will be a burnt out shell by the end of the weekend

Is that what happens to derelict vehicles?

Think ours get an orange sticker then after a certain amount of time are towed to an impound.

Outback Porsche 03-10-2016 02:05 AM

It's how the locals roll if you abandon a vehicle, and it doesn't have to be derelict.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 02:08 AM

Don't see many if any burned out husks here.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 02:12 AM

My nephes washed his car when he was living in an apartment. He went in to have dinner. While still eating the police called. His car had been stolen. The thief had gone to a convenience store bought some girly mags, a case of beer, then drove off the road on a curve killing himself.

Outback Porsche 03-10-2016 02:15 AM

They buy a $2-5k 5hitbox with royalty money and run it into the ground. Someone else comes along over the next few day and strip it of parts, then when it's all done, it gets lit up. Sometimes they just get lit up for the 'fun' of it. If it's a stolen vehicle, it'll get run out of bang water then lit up.

It's hard to value anything when everything is given to you.

RKDinOKC 03-10-2016 02:49 AM

Yep. I understand in Canada they paint their junkers with bright colors so when they have to abandon them in the snow they can find them again after the melt.
