Sid what can they do to my RDX?
|
They dont show anything online, but I'm sure an ECU tune and some intake love is possible. Wonder if anyone makes and aftermarket intake and exhaust for that?
|
After having lunch with the bud, am going to have to shut up about work.
Seems I need to fix making people feel stupid when i help them. If I don't fix it, I'm on the next list. Glen, can you help me with that? |
Just don't say a thing and let them go about their plans and when the you know what hits the fan try and not saying "I told you so"!
|
Was told when I help people I make them feel stupid and specifically when talking to them.
It seems to be the old not what I say or how I say it, I make people feel stupid thing. With my age, health, and eye problems will most likely not be able to find a job. Can take early 401K dole out but is only $1000 a month until I'm 62. Could sell the 928 and pay off the house, but insurance and taxes is still $500 a month. Electricity/City/Gas comes up to just over $300. |
Spike their drink before you talk to them?
It may not be true for all of them, but I bet some of them feel stupid because they are being honest with themselves. Ironically, that is the disciplinary action paperwork I had to fill out for someone here. Foe that one it was tone of voice plus what was said. |
Told its never anything I say. And I never yell at anyone.
|
Just slow down, make em think you are really struggling to come up with an viable answer. The dumber the question the longer it will take you to get back to them wait a solution.
Unless of course you are dealing with HR or your boss. Then you can show you know your stuff. |
Kinda funny, we had that guy that was a machinist that was helping everyone with their home computers. When there was an opening for that specific job they told him he could be gruff and hard to get along with. All of the people he had been helping were stunned.
They hired a guy from outside the company. His first help task was with one of the guys in my department. He was very short, did not sound happy, and got pissy with anyone that tried to talk to him. He very quickly got the nickname "Smiley". After a couple of years they had to let him go for some thing he did, he was always poking around in things he wasn't supposed to. After firing him they hired the machinist guy and he worked out wonderfully until the day he died. On my Mac servers I burry a program down in the system stuff that nobody should be snooping in. The files is called "sexygirl" and has an icon of a woman's head with long hair. The program would set itself as the startup app, then put up a block screen the the Mac system error bomb on it. The funny thing was if you tired to click on Restart the button would run from the mouse pointer so you could never click on it. The had to call me to get the machine back. You clicked the cancel button instead of restart. I called it my bird dog program. I also made several of the more serious error screens say. "You computer had totally freaked out. Contact Richard as soon a possible!" It was hilarious about 3 years later when a user called me and told me her computer says it totally freaked out! I had forgotten completely about it. She said she like it because it got help quick. |
We had to putt around this baby Western Brown on the 12th yesterday
Fortunately it was happy to stay still and keep sunning itself while we went about our game. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1457739878.jpg |
Had someone come look at the bug and agree to buy it tonight. He beat me down a little but didn't want the rack so I'll make some on that. Just tired of messing with it!
|
Good luck on the sale, Sid!
|
Not want the rack!?
Every guy likes to see a nice rack! That's one of the things that makes the older bugs look cool! Oh well, to each their own. When I traded in my full size Jimmy I took all that kind of stuff off because the dealer wouldn't give me any more anyway. The new owner called me just 3 days after I traded it in. Sure didn't take em long to sell it. Anyway the new owner bought all that stuff off me. Didn't even have a chance to list the stuff for sale. The girl that bought the Jimmy even liked the bug deflector that mount on the front of the hood that I took off first thing after I bought it. The deflector had lettering across it that said "SPUNKY"! Lol. I saw it parked at a dealership. The previous owner hadn't even driven off the lot in his new truck yet. That thing sure was a fast mover. |
Oh yeah...Good Morning
|
Morning all.
I think Mrs. Carrera has some outdoor chores planned for me. She is in her yard work clothes. She usually has me "help" her do her yard work. |
|
Where'd ya get the anti-gravity tires?
|
So, the Sportster has about 50hp on the wheel.
For about $1k and a weekend of my time, I can make that 75. For about 2k and a weekend of my time I can push it closer to 100. Or, for about 6k and a weekend of my time, I can drop in the big bore kit and turbocharge it.....giving me something near 250....then replace the transmission after I blow it up in 12 miles. |
Nice green bug, Sid! I'm sitting at a VW dealership's service department getting my wife's clapped out Jetta serviced. This '57 is sitting in the customer lounge. Bug's are pretty cool, definitely old school.

If I had a big garage, I'd be keep it for sure. Something fun about cruising low and slow in a bug.
Maybe in the future I'll pick up another or a Ghia. Just too fun. |
