One of the historical aerials I dug up and provided to a customer was another interesting one. Out at the edge of the county in the 1940s to the 1970s an area was a gravel pit, and they also had a gravel washing operation and allowed waste dumping on site. The gravel pit soon ran out of gravel but they still kept importing gravel from other location and washing it there. Of course they washed it with sulfuric acid. The pit closed and was covered with a layer of topsoil and soon trees grew and it was all pretty looking again.

In the 2000s some lady bought a house that was built on top of the old washing pit. Of course they needed a water well. It would be interesting to know the PH of her water. She is having health issues. The guy that ordered the photos said no way in hell would he take a shower at her house, much less drink that water.

When I first stared working here I looked up my house. It was a farmer's wheat field then a developed into neighborhood. No farmer's trash pits, hog farms or anything but a filed for crops and never an oil well close by.

I know who I am calling when we fly to CA to see my wife's family.

She made breakfast burritos this morning. Mmmmmm.

For breakfast coated a pan with lard and made a 2 egg omelet filled with pulled pork and mozzarella cheese and covered with mild salsa. But I did have to both cook and clean up afterwards myself.

Going to hold off on breakfast in the moring if I'm gonna have chicken fried steak and fries smothered in white gravy, a slice of Texas toast and a side salad with ranch for lunch tomorrow.

I dig chicken fried steak but not 40 pounds at one meal.


Besides, I'm on a diet now.

At Ann's chicken fry they have a burger called something like the big Mike. It is one pound of meat and covered in fries and chili. One of my friends would eat one of those for lunch when he was working as a sprinkler installer. He was doing hard physical labor and loved to eat.

Oh man, almost forgot they gots good chili cheese burgers too!

I decided to test the 911 today. I drove it to work and there was no issue. There never was an issue with a short trip like that. My 12 minute commute today was likely 10 minutes because there was no cross traffic at all at the few 4 way stops and the two traffic lights were green, and it is nice an cool. Today it will get up to low to mid 80s. And since I will be driving to Ann's to meet Richard for lunch at the regular time, I will have time to warm the engine up.

It is like petting a dog that has bitten you in the past. I pretty much trust it, but I am still leery of it. I really feel like I fixed it, but there is only one way to really find out, push it to the point where it failed before. After driving 5,500 miles this summer and getting totally comfortable with the reliability it is like making it earn my trust again.

Good morning. Ok while you guys have lunch I'll take a nap then have lunch.

Been think bout the 928 since it at least has the motor under the hood and the hood installed.

These things seem to be getting pretty pricey compared to what I paid for it. Instead of driving it to the event's I like to attend with it I am thinking about trailering it to keep the miles off. And using the Cayenne Turbo to pull it since it can handle up to 7500lb towing.

There are some really cool trailers made by Jimglo. Their open trailer has a tilt bed so you don't have to mess with ramps. And has a gravel guard to keep debris from hitting the car. Their enclosed trailer the side opens up like an awning on the driver's side so you can open the door to get in and out of the car. They both weigh 2000lbs or less so wouldn't have any weight problems.

My problem is don't have anywhere to put the trailer when not in use. Garage is not big enough. Not enough property to put it beside the garage, and even though a few houses down the street a guy parks a pickup with enclosed trailer in his drive, and the next door neighbor had a horse trailer in his drive for 3 years, think a car trailer parked in the drive would disappear.

Trailers are great, but storage is the issue. Any secure lot is going to be over a 100 bucks per month easy. So well over a grand a year just to store it. And the tires will rot in a few years and the bearings need regular service. If you can find some place with secure free storage that helps or if you can get a gate wide enough to get it in your back yard you have a better deal. Even if you spend some money on making a parking pad in the back.

The last few times I needed a trailer, I just rented a u-haul. It was a damn nice trailer. I did not haul a car on it however. I am sure they have them.

They just don't make garages on regular houses big enough. Barely fits two cars in my two car garage and the driver get in and out. Just a couple of feet in both directions would really be nice. Could fit the Crown Vic my Mom had, but there would only be 6 inches in front and back of the car total. Most of the houses we looked at when shopping for houses you couldn't fit the Crown Vic lengthwise at all.

Think that cheaper build by saving a couple of square foot thing in the garage is moronic. The builders and architects that do that should have their nuts put in a vice.

At my old house the garages was tiny. My 914 had room in there for the car and room to do a clutch change. The El Camino flat did not fit. I pulled up until the bumper touched the Sheetrock and the rear bumper was several inches outside.

One thing I really LOVE about my current house. I can throw open those HUGE El Camino doors on both sides and not hit anything. It is oversize in depth and width. I just wish it were 6 feet higher. :)

There was on house we looked at that was amazing. It had a daily driver attached garage on one end of the house with plenty of room depth and width wise. On the other end there was a short covered breezeway to a huge garage that had a full lift and the two bays were big enough with doors big enough you could park 2 RV's in it. The problem with the house was the corner lot was on a MAJOR high traffic 4 lane street.

That was the house with a gun safe behind a fake wall that was the back of the master bedroom walk-in closet. Told me there was a valuables safe hidden in the house I would not find that he would not show me where it was unless I bought the house. And the way the rear wall of the closet was hidden that it opened I believed him.

Just don't understand why someone would go to such an extent to build a house like that in such a crappy location.

Ann's Chicken Fry was just as good as I remember and I am full.
