Haven't fixed the deer damage yet Glen. The car will be parked for 5 months shortly so I'll have it fixed then.

That makes sense. Dang deer. We need to have few deer or teach them to use the deer crossing signs. They are never cross in safe areas.

Haven't hit no fauna but a coupla birds. One were a quail. Had my nephew with me. When seen the covey rose and headed in front of the car acted like had a shotgun, said "Big Shotgun, Bang!" Just as I said "Bang" one of the birds hit the windshield right were was pointing imaginary gun. Nephew freaked out, kept asking me how I did that.

Have wondered if them deer whistle thangs you see in JC Whiney that's supposed to be mounted on the fenders actually duz any good at keeping the deer from running out in front of cars or do they make dogs go nuts.

GH85Carrera 10-09-2016 06:26 AM

Those deer whistles are useless. On of my relatives was a school district manager in a rural area. They put the whittles on 1/2 the vehicles. More of the vehicles WITH the whistles were hit.

Good morning all.

Figured they just made the deer stop and say "What the heck is..." Thump!

Mmmmm, the Missus is making salsa and guacamole to go with the freshly baked tortilla chips. Mmmmm. :)

Long day for me. I was allowed to dig 4 more holes in the ground. Then we cut back on of the huge overgrown bushes. The I got to mow the yard and I did slip in a car wash on the Elky. It was almost like I was busy.

Put a new exhaust on the 2001 Highlander. 206K + on the original exhaust.
Manifolds (v6) to tail pipe.....not a fun job. One of the studs on the rear manifold snapped off ( they were heated cherry red ). Tried drilling it out with a right angle drill......broke a bit off . Decided to just burn it out with the torch.....ran out of acetylene:(. Spent the next hour or so fabricating a clamp to use on that end of the flange. Got er done.

Gee Pete, you had almost much fun as I did.

Got my Card Wallet iPhone case today. It's a Wally Wallet case.

https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/s...9F9lU&usqp=CAE

The red tab pulls out cards/etc. Holds the equivalent of 4 cars in cards/folded money. Since I just carry 3 cards it seems to work well so far. Understand I can get it wet and stretch it out for more if needed. The only thing I am having to get used to is the case has squared off corners instead of the smooth rounded edges of my previous leather case. Feels a little weird but not really thicker. Pretty neat to just pull the red tab and pic a card, then when done shove it and the rest back in the slot. Kinda wish the tab was black so it would be more discrete.

Haven't accidentally tried to pull out my wallet yet.

Also I was just dropping my card in my shirt pocket since it was such a hassle to get my wallet in and out sitting at the drive thru. Now I just stick it back in the slot on the iPhone. Maybe that's because it is new.

Figured I pull my phone out and the cashier says "We don't have ApplePay." I say "That's okay," and slip my card out of the side of the phone.

Worst case scenario I can use it just for my credit card and put everything else in a wallet.

Thought about getting one of the new Apple Watches, but since Applepay isn't everywhere just don't see how I could fit a card in or around the watch without the card sticking out too far.

GH85Carrera 10-10-2016 05:32 AM

Good Morning all.

Richard, I presume one of the cards you carry is a driver's license. My MIL had a iPhone case like that for her iPhone 5s and now for her 6S. She loves being able to leave her purse at home for short errands and have her id and credit and debit cards with her.

I do wish more places had Apple pay. If it ever does get popular I will start to use it. I still carry some cash. I just can't see messing with a CC card for small purchases. And more important, I know of two restaurants that are on my favorites list that do not accept credit or debit cards. They only accept cash.

When we were in Canada eating at the restaurant they use the CC machine that they bring to the table. I had to remember the pin for my card and their network went down. I was about to ask if they accept American dollars since almost every place in the world will unless it is the local government is really harsh about that. The good news is the CC machine came back on-line.

morning all. had to put the 911 away fro a bit as the rain is coming down.

RKDinOKC 10-10-2016 07:06 AM

Yep, 3 cards (credit/debit, id, and insurance) and a few bills of cash. If I carry more than a few bills, typically carry in my pocket not in wallet. Pepper's groomer only takes cash.

Was always a big proponent of a skinny wallet. New replacement wallet I got is skinnier with everything could find to stuff in it than my last wallet (that I ended up washing machining to death) without anything in it. Remember my Dad's wallet being about an inch thick folded.

It's a Bellroy Slim Sleeve. It is 1/4 inch wider than my old one when folded though They have one that is a layer of leather thicker that has a bill pocket the size of the wallet, the Note Sleeve.

What restaurants don't take cards? I keep forgetting.

GH85Carrera 10-10-2016 07:19 AM

Eischen's fried chicken in Okarche, and Ann's Chicken Fry of Rt 66. Both have lip smackin good food. You know that super healthy vegan organic and pure deep fried stuff.

RKDinOKC 10-10-2016 07:26 AM

Oh man, it's been too long. Not a big chicken eater but Used to go to Ann's fairly often. Heck when didn't work from home ate lunch out every day. Now not nearly as often. One of the reasons pretty much quit carrying cash. Do feel weird sometimes using a card for under $3.00 for a couple of tacos at Taco Smell, er Bell.

Porsche-poor 10-10-2016 07:27 AM

nooner trip!!!!!!

GH85Carrera 10-10-2016 07:34 AM

I might be talked into a trip to Ann's tomorrow for lunch. Ya know, if I HAD to.

One time when I was in there a guy came walking in and said he was from North Dakota and in town for training and was told by several friends he HAD to go to Ann's to get a Chicken Fried steak lunch special. He did not even know what they were but he was there to try one. He ate the entire thing and said he would be back tomorrow for another one before he goes back home.

RKDinOKC 10-10-2016 07:48 AM

Sounds like need to make sure gots some cash on me!

There was a hole in the wall Mexican place a little farther out on the same street as Ann's. Supposed to be authentic Mexican. Got a burrito and swear it tasted exactly like my Mom's beef stroganoff. Not spicey or tex mex at all.

There also used to be a place called Meiki's Route 66 cafe that had the best calzone in town. They used a different dough than their pizza (which was pretty good) and ground the ham, nobody does that. It was so much better. They moved, then got hit by a tornado and never re-opened.

Porsche-poor 10-10-2016 08:18 AM

I just ate breakfast and now I'm getting hungry again.

RKDinOKC 10-10-2016 08:36 AM

So pictures of my new empty wallets didn't make you want to send me cash? Dern.
