I've got a mate that was planning to come to the north island next week. Says they may not make it across till the week after, as there's a backlog of heavy vehicles getting priority.

Thanks Jeff. We are scheduled to be in Wellington on Sunday & Monday, and depart for the South Island on Tuesday. I'm not sure how the plan will be adapted to factor in the conditions on the ground in Wellington.

I hope your retirement training goes well and your mate makes it up to see you.

Since we're already retired, vacations are even more "go with the flow." Just so long as the flow isn't due to fast moving floodwaters. :D

Working tonite to move some mailboxes around. Gonna take off tomorrow, but will probably sleep.

Got a call from my son, he's booked us into the hotel he works at for New Years eve - Sails in the Desert.

Mr. Hank was up at 5am today. ugh

No going back to bed once he is awake.

The other night Pepper woke my up by saying "I want out" at both 3am and 5am. Because she came to me and said "I want out" I had to get up and go let her out.

Pepper just now came in to me sitting at the computer and said "Drink of Water." Sure enough, her water dish was empty! When I walk into the kitchen to get the pitcher I use to fill her water bowl she says "drink of water," then jumps up putting her paws on the counter in front of the sink and looks in the kitchen sink. The stink pot.

oh oh, just made plans for our unplanned nz trip. Emirites changed our flight time to a late afternoon arival - decided we may as well stay the night in Auckland and booked into the Sebel on the harbour.

Could take vacation for the rest of the year. Have 45 days available. But this year, if we don't use it, we get paid for it!
