I was afraid of that.....

Just think over engineered with sub standard parts and you will have a good idea.

slodave 11-28-2010 04:23 PM

Just get it off the ground and then jam some sticks in there. Fixed, good to go.

Rick V 11-28-2010 04:25 PM

Dave you are over qualified now. :D

porsche4life 11-28-2010 04:27 PM

That was my solution... Get rid of the airchocks and go to a normal suspension.

Rick V 11-28-2010 04:28 PM

Well if you go Dave's route make sure to use treated wood.

porsche4life 11-28-2010 04:29 PM

I'd use some square tube from out back...

Rick V 11-28-2010 04:31 PM

Best thing to do is drop all the fluids, kick out all the windows, remove the wheels and whamo, instant chicken coupe

slodave 11-28-2010 04:31 PM

ASE certified. Pfft!

porsche4life 11-28-2010 04:33 PM

Who said anything about ASE?

Rick V 11-28-2010 04:36 PM

All kidding aside Sid, let me know if you need some info about the rag. ( I know how to start good fires)

Me, see post 14211. :)

Rick V 11-28-2010 04:38 PM

OOOOOOOOOOOO Burn. :D

GH85Carrera 11-28-2010 07:56 PM

The inside door handle broke off in in hand on my El Camino. R&R the door panel and drill out the old rivets, bolt on new handle. Replace the panels.

It is neat to be able to go to the local parts store and pick up a part for a 25 year old car.

Somehow my apartment got selected for the American Community Survey by the Census bureau.... 28 pages of BS!

slodave 11-28-2010 09:47 PM

That wasn't smart. 4 hour nap. Now I'll never fall asleep.

porsche4life 11-28-2010 09:49 PM

Watch the latest TG? It should put you right out

HHI944 11-28-2010 10:00 PM

Yeah, it was pretty lame :(

Most people just scrap the air suspension on those era rovers for a standard coil/shock rig. Check Roversnorth for a kit. The air crap is just that...

RKDinOKC 11-28-2010 10:00 PM

My Rover don't gots no air bags in-dash or otherwise. It's the year before they did the air suspension. Kinda glad after seeing a couple of 'tubes of a Rover 4 wheelin then "Pow" and it limped away ridin all funny an lop sided.

Still think my Rover is pretty good for an $800 4x4. Even has working seat heaters. Curious to see how the heated windshield works this winter.
