Richard, they are lazy and just ASS-U-ME it all worked. Why check when it is supposed to work without checking?

My mean slave driver boss has me working today. Sitting in front on my computer and having to THINK!

We have to re-process all that data, and the sooner we get the part done that they paid for yesterday they will take a taste of it and hopefully get hooked and order more. I will start on the next third but they don't get anything but what the pay for up front. We can work like a drug dealer. Give em a small taste and promise the good stuff for when they bring money.

We're dog-sitting for our regular dog-sitter over the holiday weekend. A little ironic. Anyway, our dog is not too thrilled to have another dog in "her house." At least they know each other and haven't gone mental on each other. Yet. :D

RKDinOKC 12-30-2017 11:51 AM

Could understand being lazy and assuming it all worked, if it had worked at least once in the last year!!!

On the subject of last year. Last weekend the year!!

RKDinOKC 12-30-2017 11:57 AM

On the subject of dogs...

Walked across the alley and street behind me last night to fix my brother's wifi, routers needed firmware updates.

Anyway, Pepper caught the back door before it closed and followed me. Didn't realize until already thru the gate in the back fence. It was about 8pm and there wasn't anyone about so just let her follow and acted like I didn't see her. She basically just followed me and didn't run all over the unexplored neighborhood. Almost none of them have individual fences.

When I came out of brother's house she was sitting by his front door waiting for me. She heeled properly all the way back and thru the gate and then back door. And NOT on leash. I know there wasn't ANY distractions, but I thought she done great! Lots of good girls on the way back and treats after we go back in the house.

And I am still working. Not as hard as my computers. The main system with the i7 4 core computer has been at full 100% CPU usage most of the time. I have to use the i5 CPU system to goof of on Pelican and the other parts of the work.

Oh by the way it is silly cold outside. 20 degrees and it is gonna get colder.

I guess I should refrain from talking about the weather here.

RKDinOKC 12-30-2017 05:45 PM

We know about your weather...

Tooth socket was hurting so took a pain killer.
Decided to re-watch The Last Jedi to pickup some details.
Woke up, the movie was over, don't remember watching it.
So, ordered a pizza and hope it gets here so can eat a slice or two pain free!

RKDinOKC 12-31-2017 05:33 AM

Good Morning!

Don't know if it was beginning the evening on pain killers, or the icey cool night, but slept GREAT!

Happy New Year, Jeff! BTW, two things need addressing about your pic. First, your drink is empty. Second, why wear such a conservative shirt? It's supposed to be party time! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/ura.gif

GH85Carrera 12-31-2017 07:41 AM

Happy new year Jeff.
I watched a great documentary last night. Godzilla vs Mothara. We ok it was a bad movie from the 60s. I remember my brother riding our bikes to the downtown San Marcos, TX theater to see it back in the 60s. It is funny that the newer Godzilla movies have Godzilla as the good guy saving humans from other monsters. Back then he was the bad guy and Mothara battled Godzilla to save Japan and was killed but her gigantic egg hatched and the twin caterpillars battled Godzilla. I don’t want to spoil the ending. ;).

Happy New Year Dudes and Dudettes!

Documentaries...been watching some on toys

Barbie was copied from a European hooker doll that men gave to a woman to let her know his intentions. The only real difference was the euro doll had nipples. Barbie's figure was extreme so she would look fashionable in clothes that were thicker because they couldn't scale down the thickness of cloth. i.e., longer neck, thinner waist, big boobies, bigger head, etc.

Also when they did the Ken doll, they started with 3 prototypes. The difference was the crotch. One was just like the Barbie, one had accurately modeled genitalia, and the one they picked just had a lump so pants and swim trunks looked correct on him. Surprised me that they even considered giving little girls a male doll with accurate genitalia. Kinda funny that the reason the decision was made (by men company directors) to NOT use the Ken with genitalia was that Ken was too well endowed. LOL.

Hey, thats my Hawaiian Hawaiian shirt :D

Btw Jim, we're heading back to NZ later this year for the ITM Auckland Supersprint. Are we gunna manage to hook up this time? ;)

RKDinOKC 12-31-2017 09:23 AM

Always wore Hawaiian shirts when flying R/C planes. With my pith helmet almost had the weirdest hat.

GH85Carrera 12-31-2017 01:00 PM

Without a doubt the Japanese Army and Navy are the worse shots than Star Wars Imperial Storm Troopers wearing blindfolds. Way worse. They are shooting at a slow moving gigantic creature and tanks and airplanes virtually all miss Godzilla.

GH85Carrera 12-31-2017 04:56 PM

Stijn!!

Whooo, another documentary!

Ghidorah, the three headed monster from outer space here to take over earth but Godzilla, Rodan an Mothrah are battening it to save earth. So now Godzilla is a good guy.

It has some funny scenes. Godzilla was battling Rodan and they were batting a giant boulder back and forth at each other. Mothrah has to convince them to all join forces to save earth.

Great New Year’s Eve movie. A Billion time better than going downtown to the big NYE party.

RKDinOKC 12-31-2017 06:37 PM

So that one is a "Rockumentary" batting the giant bolder back and fourth?

Watched the toy history about He-man. They came up with He-man with lots of studies into what boys liked. Then made comic books and cartoons to sell them with a story. Each cartoon had a moral it taught. Sales increased until He-man out sold all girls toys including Barbie at Mattel. The female Barbie execs made them add She-ra so girls could have adventures too. After they added She-ra wasn't long until He-man sales dwindled away. In the cartoons She-ra made He-man look stupid and P-whipped. It was obvious but the female execs don't see or believe it even today. They just shrug as to why He-man sales dropped far enough to kill He-man profitability.

Happy new year

GH85Carrera 01-01-2018 06:11 AM

Happy 2018 everyone.

It is a brisk 4 degrees outside. That alone seems like a good reason to not complain about the mean boss making me work on New Year's day for no overtime money. I will finish up the data processing that we got the 1/3 payment for the other day. I will FTP 1/3 of the data and let him know what is available for just another nice deposit. I do like invoicing his projects knowing we have no cost except my seat time and the electricity use of the computers.
If they really do start the project back for more flying up soon it will be another one of the "how do we get it all done in time" moments, and lots of work.
