Whew, another busy long weekend over. The bosses wife made me climb around in the attic yesterday. For the last several years we have not done much Christmas decorating in the house. With no kids coming over it seemed pointless. She decided it was time to lighten the load of decorations. So up in the attic I go and and bring down a bunch of stuff. We filled up half of the El Camino withe stuff to donate to Goodwill. We kept some of the sentimental items. The stocking my Grandma made for me when I was about 5, and an ornament I made from old milk bottle lids. The lids to glass bottles that were delivered to the house. I made it when I was in the cub scouts.

Since all the decorations were down, she has been doing some decorating. She ordered a new tree, it is only 4.5 feet tall and already illuminated, and it folds up into a storage sack. That gets here is a few days.

Morning all. Ate to much, had a lot of fun with the boys putting up outdoor lights. The wife set off the Christmas bomb in the house. Glad to be back to work.

On close by neighborhood areas a couple of miles away people have posted found dogs that matched the missing dogs. Before that old farts post hardly anyone posted about their dog going missing. Makes me wonder.

My next door neighbor grew up on a farm and has always let his dogs roam free. He did walk several houses in either direction popper scooping though. His Dalmatian taught Camber the neighborhood was her yard and couldn't let her out much. His only dog now is and old dachshund he inherited and she never leaves her yard. Pepper tends to sniff her way south couple of houses south where another golden lives.

Mom used to leash the dogs to the tree out front with a couple of 20ft leashes leashed together. Pepper freaking wriggles out of the collar! Think I need to get a harness. Gotta use one to have her hangin as a service dog anyways.

We had a harness for our current lab when she couldn't wear a collar due to her eye surgery. She wriggled out of that and chewed it up. Glad she can wear a collar with the Pet Safe range collar on it. If she does run off, she goes to the nearest neighbor up the hill to play with their dog. It is only a few hundred yards and she runs back to our house on the ditch.

We had turkey at the MiL house Thursday since my wife's brother was in town. Then we had turkey Sunday with the free turkey we get from where I work. Cleaned up the remainder of summer yard stuff Saturday to prep for the big storm coming on Sunday with up to 8" of snow and high winds. We had the wind but no snow. I can take one or the other, but both at the same time is miserable.

Oh, happy Monday.

I'm confused. Your wife brother is a turkey? Just kidding. Sounds like family fun.

GH85Carrera 11-26-2018 09:49 AM

We had some crazy winds yesterday. Steady at 35 MPH for a while with 40 MPH gusts. The leaves were coming off the trees like crazy. The sycamore tree that is a ways off was providing some GIANT leaves to add to the little tiny lace bark elm tree seeds and leaves. Just full range of leaves all trying to fill up my garage.

Porsche-poor 11-26-2018 11:18 AM

we are supposed to get some wind later today I think.

RKDinOKC 11-26-2018 11:29 AM

Dang it, every once in a while hear a thud and the power winks. Doesn't to a bit of good to have all my stuff on battery backup if the internet itself winks off and takes time for the cable modem t log back in.

Porsche-poor 11-26-2018 11:57 AM

makes for a no fun holiday. sorry.

He isn't too bad now, but he dropped out of college and joined the Navy because he was tired of people telling him what to do. No matter how many times you read that it will make no sense to a normal human.

We took him and his wife on a tour of the area. My MiL does not have the same cooking skills as my wife and kids. My wife got to play the board game Pandemic so she had a good time.

Actually, the boy and I had a great time together Saturday cleaning and grabbing a few things at the hardware store and O'Reillys.

That sounds like the premise of a situation comedy TV show.

Hahaha! I left the Navy and went to college because I was tired of people telling me what to do all the time. Well, sort of. I don't think I've ever escaped the people telling me what to do part. :(

yeah you come here and we tell you to get back in the garage.

Jim Richards 11-26-2018 01:36 PM

Hahahaha! If I must...

flipper35 11-26-2018 02:08 PM

At least now it is people you like (maybe, sort of) telling you what to do in a good way. I am sure your wife asks nicely instead of telling you. We don't need her to get another fork and tell you...

flipper35 11-26-2018 02:09 PM

Oh, is that Z finished yet? If not, get to it. unless the weather is nice, then go sailing.

He can get to that on Saturday. Or Saturday, or maybe next Saturday.

Jim Richards 11-26-2018 03:06 PM

Being as the weather for tomorrow (Saturday) is nice, I think I’ll go sailing. But today I was doing some yard work. Too bad that once I’ve done it, it doesn’t stay done. Maybe I should just pave paradise.

Porsche-poor 11-26-2018 03:14 PM

put in astro-turf and charge the locals to play put put golf on it.
