Well played Sir!

That reminds me, I have 1 Stella left from the 6 pack I bought 3 months ago. Should probably drink that tonight. ;)

Beer is just liquid bread.

2 hours to midnight here. We will be in bed in 30 minutes.

GH85Carrera 01-01-2017 07:33 AM

We made it to 2017. No noise at midnight at all. No one shooting fireworks or banging pot or anything. Just nice silence. I slept right through it.

Got an inch and a half of flurries last night......had to call the crew in this morning.

Happy New Year.

Oh Haha 01-01-2017 02:12 PM

Afternoon folks.

We hit the sack right after midnight like many others. I only heard a couple of loud booms so the nutheads must have taken the night off.

It was sunny and about 40 today so I picked up sticks from the yard and threw them in the firepit. Hank was a big help, too.

Waiting for the last snow pile in the back to melt so I can get my garage flashlight back. Apparently, the boy decided to bury it when we were building the snowfort a few weeks ago. Awesome.

GH85Carrera 01-01-2017 08:21 PM

They are predicting 68 degrees tomorrow. For sure time to play in the garage tomorrow.

Outback Porsche 01-02-2017 02:04 AM

Made it home, event free. SmileWavy

Had a nice couple of days with my boy.

GH85Carrera 01-02-2017 07:50 AM

Great Monday morning all. It is great since it is a holiday.

Richard, did you mean RAID 0? A mirrored RAID should go on like nothing happened.

Also, if you request nudes, you might get this: (everyone else scroll past quickly)

The raid board died so it don't matter which raid I had nothing comes up. Raid 1 is mirrored. Drive 1 had some problems, but internal drives aren't being recognized. The easiest way to fix is to by another severe off Ebay, they are going for about $100 with no internal drives.
Got a copy of the boot raid on and external drive. Except its a @#$!! Wester Digital which means It won't "F"ing boot, told tech and they said oh yes it will, well, here I am it it won't. It freaking powers down *(@$@#! WD drive. None, I repeat, NONE of my other bus powered drives do that, arrrrgh. Trying to make a boot copy onto another external firewire drive.

These are Mac compatible.

flipper35 01-02-2017 01:49 PM

Ah, I thought it was strange it wouldn't boot if a drive went down. I understand better now.

I have had better luck with WD than other brands except the one with 4 initials I don't remember. I remember the mid-90s when Seagate came out with a new drive, 3.5"/380MB I think. We replaced 80% of the ones we sold within a few months.

RKDinOKC 01-02-2017 02:18 PM

It's called a net book drive. And will NOT boot anything. It is Firewire powered and turns the power off it there are no boot drives. They specifically made it not bootable. !@#@#%! Bought the @#$#@ thing to make bootable backups. It doesn't @#$@ boot. Now I buy G-tech and IoSafe(fire/water proof).

Bought some NewerTech drives, They have a case that matches the Mac Mini, too bad the partitions go south after a year or two. Makes them Horrible backup drives.

flipper35 01-02-2017 03:20 PM

We bought a Buffalo Terraserver as a cheap redundant NAS for our other stuff. We use it to make backups of files so it is easier to restore than the DR software. It has held up pretty well for a consumer unit.

I like the IOSafe stuff.

RKDinOKC 01-02-2017 06:59 PM

All I know is they started running everything on virtual servers, the numbers of servers and raids have quadrupled and everything is slower. Yeah, that's a big step forward. But at least it's backed up, eh?
