Tough call to make. Depends on how much snow was on top,temp, etc.
We usually leave the snow (2 inches or less) if it turns to rain but that also depends on current and predicted temps.
Ice and changing to snow would be a little different. If the storm is over we'd plow and sand the ice then salt it after (black top roads.... we don't salt dirt roads).
If still snowing at some point you have to plow it. Salt takes a while to work ( temp. dependent) and we don't sand until after the storm except hills, corners and intersections.

We've gone through 2/3rds of our sand pile already and the salt delivery trucks are
showing up weekly. We have had 2 delivery's this week.

Snowing right now and i'm out the door. Not a big storm but these little ones use as much sand / salt as the big ones. Ice storms a bit more and we've had quit a few so far this winter.

We get to share in some crappy weather today. A bit of sleet, and maybe an inch of snow. Tomorrow is clear skies and 47 for the high so any frozen crap will vanish in short order.

I am really happy to not have to commute to work. The Elky will stay warm and dry and salt free in the garage. The had an accident on a highway bridge that just goes over another road. Some idiot driver managed to hit several other drivers, one pickup caught fire. The good news is no one was hurt, but the traffic was backed up like a typical LA commute. 3 lanes of cars and the only forward progress was the people getting off the highway onto the access roads to get around the blocked highway. No doubt some people spent an hour to go a few miles. Golly I miss commuting.

Got some email last night from a previous owner of the 928. He bought and wrapped another GTS to be the same color this one is painted. Told me he got called on Christmas day and the was a fire that took out his RV and that 928. Mentioned the insurance settlement might be enough to pay for this 928. Told him this time it is for sale, but I'm in no big hurry, it keeps going up in value.

Think I might order some pizza.

Haven't lit the fireplace one in the 22yrs I've lived here. Now afraid to until a chimney sweep checks it. Mom was alergic to some chemical the fireplaces generates so have it roaring was not an option. Thought about maybe putting in some of those realistic lookin gas logs.

Just open the flue and look up the chimney. You should be able to see light from the cap on top. If not grab a good flashlight. If you can see all the way to the top, fire it up. We have only lit ours twice. Once when we first moved in to see how it looks and works. The only time we really cared about the heat was when the power went out for several hours. It does help warm up the living room.

We have a gas fire place. Light it once a year at best. Its in a room we don't spend much time in.

It was .5" to 1" of snow on top. They definitely did not use salt, but they did scrape the road to smooth the ice so there is no traction other than a few places they dropped gravel going uphill. The did salt the end near the stop sign and that melted right away. The road will probably melt now that it is in the upper 40s but it was still sheer ice this morning.

Sure glad I work from home. Pretty sure would have lost my cool and been fired today.

Getting tired of being treated like I don't know my job, but end up fixing the stuff "they" break.

When sent to the shrink about the sexual innuendo he said he didn't think I said anything wrong and to just not say anything not specifically work related to those types of people. The he asked if there was anything he could help me with since I had to put in the time to make them happy.
Told him the above thing about what I say or how I say it and asked what I could do. After lots of examples and discussions, he determined it actually wasn't what or how I was interacting, it was the situation I am in due to how I have been historically treated and that was not my fault either. In other words, he can't help.

Previous owner has been emailing me a lot about the value of cars like the GTS.
He offered me $70K when I thought I could still drive and race it and was not ready to sell.

When I first talked about selling it last summer Hagerty had raised it to $86K
Since he has emailed me so much today just looked it up...$90K now.

He is trying to tell me it is only worth $70K because that is what the local guy offered me this summer.

Sounds like I may be getting a low offer soon.

Tried to talk myself out of buying it for two weeks before I made a low offer. Guy said my offer would be a good downpayment.

Hey I think its Friday!

The sun is out, it is supposed to be high 40s and even warmer soon. I need to fo yet another oil change on the Elky, and front end lube, and general inspection. I either have a slight alignment issue, or a dragging wheel bearing or brake. I don't think it is a brake, because each brake is about the same temp as the other side when I check it with my infrared thermometer. It could be just a tire pressure or a tire. I may swap the front tires side to side if I don't find anything else.

Morning all. It is Friday. I'm glad this week was short good way to prep for next week being a long work week.

Tuesday: We were flying (virtually) cover for the kids in their Liberators and we were in the Corsair and I was flying wing for my buddy. We were stacked and were going head to head with a flight of Ki44 and a closing rate over 500kts. As he got close he flew through our converged fire and the fireball went between us. Had that been real, both planes would have been covered in soot and two pilots would have needed new undies.

I love the Corsair. He did too, right up to the point he accidentally spun. You don't recover from a spin in a bent winged bird.
