Wasn't he the one that was afraid to cut the cheese?

Good Monday morning everyone.

The Super Bore, was. Only a few decent commercials that were funny.

My doctor's office called on Friday. After by blood test all is well, except by sodium and chloride levels are low. He want me to use more salt. I asked the nurse that called if she has said that before, and she admitted it was unusual. I told her it was going to be expensive to add salt to my diet, but I will work it into my budget. No I just have to learn to put salt on things which I almost never do except corn of the cob. I guess I need more popcorn and fries.

RKDinOKC 02-04-2019 06:52 AM

Yay, it's Monday.

Have to just keep telling myself that.

Doc had me on some BP med because it protected my liver from the insulin. Had to stop taking it because had a couple of episodes my BP go too low. It was kinda scary because if felt like my Blood Sugar was too low instead of Blood Pressure. Had to add some salt until that BP med got out of my system.

Have seen it, but never done it...Salt your beer.

The only things I ever salted was tomatoes, watermelon, and some french fries.
My grandmother used to salt her green peas.
There is a lot of salt in corn chips, potato chips, and McDonald's french fries.

With my parens being 40 years older have not being adding salt or salting things for a long time.
Think I've had the same Morton's salt since we moved here 20yrs ago.

Today is Parade registration, phase one.

The hotel looks rather pricey. I looked on line to see the price if I wanted to stay there sometime. It ranges fro $517 to $695 per day, plus a $11 per day resort fee, and 13% tax. And regular people stay there? Wow. Fortunately the PCA group rate is abot a 1/3 of that. It will still be stupid expensive.

Morning all. We have snow and ice. It is still snowing out and its 26 outside. I was going to work from home but the internet is down so I had to drive in. Going home (up hill) will be the worst.

Buongiorno, y’all. Care to take a guess what the weather is like here? Hint: The ____ in Spain falls mainly on the plain.

Porsche-poor 02-04-2019 08:24 AM

I'd rather have Spain problems right now.

Jim Richards 02-04-2019 08:26 AM

Yep. Ice is the worst.

Mudslides are the worst. When your uphill neighbors property comes to visit has to be worse.

Chicken ranch. That's why uncle joe was tuckered out.

Was cloudy all weekend by us. Cloudy all the way to ground level with a light mist/rain. Then it rained in earnest last night and will be down in the teens tonight from a high of 42* this morning. Flash flood warnings started early this morning. We are on top of a small hill so no real worries at our house.

I can now legally drive the Cobra until Jan 1 again. I think I will wait.

sammyg2 02-04-2019 10:19 AM

our pool is about 3" from over-flowing.
Never saw that before.

Porsche-poor 02-04-2019 10:33 AM

gathered some work and went home. Saw two cars in the ditch. Did several CA roll-offs at hill tops to keep going.

But if you live on flat ground like us common folk, mudslides aren't much of a concern.
We don't get much ice around here either.

One time ('bout 30 years ago) I was going skiing in Big bear with my brother.
Having growed up in Utah we understood cold stuff better than most around here do, so I was driving a little slower than some of the cars behind would have liked.
in fact one guy flipped me off when he passed and the guy behind me was following too close. Note this was before anti-lock brakes were a thing.

I saw a bridge way up ahead and eased out of it a started braking carefully, just in case.

Then I saw the tool who had flipped me off. His car was all balled up into another car he had run into when he hit the ice on the bridge and couldn't stop.

I was going slow enough that I could stop easily, when BAM! The tool behind me who was tailgating hit me cause he couldn't stop when he hit the ice.

We all waited for the PO-PO to get there.
The guy who had flipped me off was bummed cause his car was really mangled, and I laughed and flipped him off back. He looked down.

The guy who was tail-gating me stood there looking at his car that was shorter than it used to be so the doors wouldn't open, and I heard his daughter say to him "does this mean we're not going to go skiing?
if you can imagine the tone of voice of spoiled teenage brat who was being inconvenienced, that's what it sounded like. Perfect.

I looked at my pick-em-up truck for damage.
The trailer hitch was scratched a little, and there was a small nick in the rubber trim on the bumper.
Not even worth noticing.

I gave the PO-PO my info and he said thanks, you can go. Skiing.
it was going to be a good day Tater.

Porsche-poor 02-04-2019 10:44 AM

yeah the two cars I saw were probably exceeding the speed for conditions and bam hey there is the ditch,

Outback Porsche 02-04-2019 10:47 AM

Does anyone know what sort of jelly fish this is?

sammyg2 02-04-2019 11:03 AM

No idea.

RKDinOKC 02-04-2019 11:38 AM

Jeff, Looks to be one of them flesh jellyfish I heard of. Think they usually have a shell that only the mouth sticks out. Haven't heard of them killing anyone, but can they give you an STD.

Sammy, thought you were talking Bob Seagers Fire Lake. There's a Old Man Joe surrounded by women in it as well. Didn't know the place you are talking about was called Firelake. All I know is it is close to Hooterville and has one o them elevated swimmin holes.

Outback Porsche 02-04-2019 11:39 AM

Yeah, it looks like it'll give you a nasty bite with a horrible rash.

Jim Richards 02-04-2019 12:31 PM

If that thing is in Australia, it'll either kill you or kill you and eat you. Run away! Run away!
