My MIL is spending another night with us. She is NOT a monster-in-law at all. We get along great. My wife has a harder time with her since her mom treats her like a kid sometimes. I stay out of it.

She came down to see the same dermatologist Mrs Carrera and I see. I think she leaves tomorrow. I am not usually included in that information. It does not matter much one way or the other to me. They went shopping yesterday. Today was a the doc visit, and then they are off to see a relative.

The good news is my mean boss said I had to stay here and work, so I missed going to visit a 86 aunt of my wife. Dang sometimes that boss is nice after all.

Porsche-poor 04-01-2019 02:14 PM

yeah but did the mean boos hide the beer?

GH85Carrera 04-01-2019 02:16 PM

Nope, he can't seem to figure out how to do that anyway. I always just know, it is in the fridge. Well, both the garage fridge and the kitchen one.

Porsche-poor 04-01-2019 02:25 PM

back ups I like the plan.

RKDinOKC 04-01-2019 02:52 PM

Last time I had the Carne Asada was when you guys came thru and we ate at that Mexican place.

RKDinOKC 04-01-2019 02:54 PM

Brother Bob, that had the wreck, is sure regretting he stopped one car insurance before the coverager started one the new company. Especially since he had the wreck in-between. I think the car is totalled. It needed a new transmission and a brake job before the wreck. I kinda think the brake job is the reason for the wreck. But hey, all the more reason to make sure you gots insurance coverage

Even when I buy a vehicle I don't move or drive it anywhere until I call my agent and make sure that sucka is covered..

Shooting trap in wind like that should be fun. 🤣🤣🤣

Where we used to shoot all the time, the south wind would push the birds down fast, you had to get on em fast or you had no chance

Hola, y’all. We just got back from sailing. Light wind today, but it was warm enough for Tshirts & shorts. We saw a pair of gray whales migrating up the coast. That was fun.

RKDinOKC 04-01-2019 06:32 PM

Them trap, skeet, clay pidgeons is crunchy, crunchy.

GH85Carrera 04-02-2019 06:04 AM

Happy not Monday!

Porsche-poor 04-02-2019 08:10 AM

Morning all. Boy was that fun. Computer took 10 min to boot. Turns out mines not the only one in the office to do it.

GH85Carrera 04-02-2019 08:45 AM

If the weather holds it looks like I will go flying shortly after lunch. We are doing another test flight. It is windy today, so likely bumpy ride in store for us. The test is to fly with two camera systems at once. That means running two laptops, and monitoring each one, so a lot of looking down. Add in a bumpy ride and it makes for a tummy twister. I figure a large lunch and slam a few beers before we go is NOT the thing to do.

It was like a roller coaster last time, and not seeing the horizon, and being a passenger was a test of motion sickness.

Porsche-poor 04-02-2019 09:25 AM

good luck. hope everything stays put.

The team didn't hit as many as they could have with the wind pushing them around, but she had a great time and didn't get discouraged with the wind so I am happy with that. She had a few choices in shotguns that we inherited and decided on the 870 Wingmaster. i thought it was a good choice. The side by side would get a little heavy after a couple rounds.

By the way, it was snowing a couple hours ago. I left the winter tires on teh truck but put the snow blower away so it came out a wash. Had I put the summer tires on I am sure we would be having a blizzard like back in 73 with 13-15 inches of snow.

Richard, even slow cooking them birds stay crunchy.

porsche4life 04-02-2019 10:32 AM

Glen, take some Dramamine, or get some zofran next time you see your dr.

870 is a nice choice for a trap gun. Dead nuts reliable. If it’s got a shell loaded, it’ll go boom every time.

After the hail storm I have had a ton of calls (over 20) and several door knockers. Yesterday was a guy wanting to do car hail damage. The cars were in the garage, like they are supposed to be when parked, so no car damage.

I did have two bits of hail damage. The bosses wife ties a old CD to the strings over the koi pond. It is supposed to scare fish eating birds away. That CD took a direct hit, and shattered into multiple pieces. I can't really put a value of an old trashed CD that I saved from the landfill to have a use for a while. It is on the way to the landfill now. New CD will come from some old CD backup of some program from many years ago.

The other bit of damage was the anemometer that measures wind speed on my Davis Vantage Vue weather station outside. It too must have taken a direct hit and it broke off one of the cups.

It was $28.58. It took me longer to find the teeny tiny allen wrench to remove it than it did to take it down, and bring it into the garage. I have no idea when I bought the tiny allen wrenches but it has been many years. I don't remember ever seeing them for sale at a tool store. It is a Craftsman and it says 950 on it for a size. I have no idea what that means. It is really small. But I had it!

flipper35 04-02-2019 10:51 AM

Yup. I couldn't see how she could go wrong with it. We put the Super Cell recoil pad on after she decided which worked better for her which should help with the recoil bruising next time out. She shoots everything else she can get her hands on so she at least wasn't afraid of it and took instruction well.

Glen, my favorite part of flight instruction was on those bumpy days under the hood with my head in my lap practicing "recovery from unusual attitudes". Made things interesting.

Porsche-poor 04-02-2019 01:04 PM

That's it I $#%$# hate April. I'm skipping it next year. Last year my dad, the year before that my mom and this year my lab.

Jim Richards 04-02-2019 01:09 PM

Sorry to hear that, David.
