Nice work there, Glen.
Richard, I think the mere mention of Texas might be considered offensive. ;) |

Fer sure. We prefer to call that area just south of Oklahoma as Baja Oklahoma. |
The State formerly know as the Indian Territories?
Kinda like the Artist formerly know as Prince. |

Jeff, the grass behind your trailer looks really tall! ;) I bet you left the mower at home.
Good over the hump day morning to all y'all. Brett, I don't have any bill collector stories. About the closest thing is our phone number is the same one that a oil and gas exploration company had in the past. Some dude from Germany called late at night and demanded I help him with his royalty check. I told him we have zero to do with that company and I have no information on what happened to them and he was out of luck. We kept getting calls like that so I finally just called 411 and asked for the number to that company. They gave out my number. Fortunately the operator was a human and I stopped her, and said we have a problem. I asked he for the number to me and she had the same phone number. She even said, I think I understand your issue. She said she would be sure to update the computer that day. The listing is just for us now. Now we don't answer the phone at all unless it is someone we know. If they leave a legit message, we call back. The rest are ignored. |
morning all. If I make it thru the day its jazz night with Connor playing at a local coffee shop.
|
Seem to get a LOT of spam phone calls that just hang up or play a recording to press a number to contact them. I've started pressing the number to contact them, then acting interested, then telling them I just wanted to waste their time like they were wasting mine by their computer calling over and over and hanging up. Then I block the number.
|
it has got to the point where we don't even answer the home phone any more. They can leave a message.
|
If I get a number I don't recognize, I hope it is a person trying to sell me something so I can waste their time. If it just hangs up, it gets on my blocked caller list.
Going to check and see if the caller's will receive text answers. Then I can start have fun with the iPhone's don't answer texts. |
Like everyone I hate the junk calls. I have lots of them recently that are some perky happy sounding chick saying I had stayed at one of their resorts and I will.... And I hang up.
I get the call that the warranty on my car is about to expire. I have wasted the time of a few of them. I sound real interested and start asking questions on what the warranty will cover and the cost of different options. They keep asking about my vehicle and mileage and I keep ignoring that and asking them questions. When they get insistent on knowing about my car I sound surprised they don't know about it since they had to know about it to know the warranty was about to expire. Then I ask which of my many cars they had were calling about? The 86 El Camino with 350,000+ miles on it would be great to have back under warranty. The jerks always hang up. |
I would to! I want to hear about the Macan!
|
I don't answer any I don't recognize. I figure if it is important, they will leave a message.
What is it with kids and dirt? Jacob was helping shovel the dirt to level the entrance to the garden until the pile got to a certain size. Then both kids played in the dirt pile instead. Oh well, I was close to done for the day anyway. |
We had a couple of guys come in the office that are both former employees of one of the large oil and gas companies. They both were hit in the layoffs and they got together to start a little consulting company. They had worked with us before and were wondering what we can do for them.
Of course we are dressed in t-shirt and shorts and the monster garage look of the building is not something out of the typical corporate world of coats and ties. They were just amazed at the stuff we showed them, especially the 3D stuff and some of the processing we can do. They left excited and threw us a very good compliment. |

I think kids naturally love to play in dirt to improve their bodies' immunity to diseases. It must be an evolutionary traits passed down over the eons. Besides, dirt is cool. |
I hate work. The rain is back and will stay thru the weekend. Monday thru Wednesday the sun was out and where was I stuck in the office.
|
Our weather is supposed to be upper 70s. Perfect for doing a Glen and replacing a retaining wall.
|
This weekend is supposed to be real pretty weather here. I did have to apply for a hall pass for Saturday to play with my friends. The club is having a car show at Hooters. The crappiest food possible but they have cold beer at least. Mostly we admire each others cars and then go inside and suffer through crappy food and have a beer. Dang, I am such a typical guy.
