I wanna get an old honda S-2000, strip it down as much as possible, and install a supercharger on it and go autocrossing.
Imagine plenty of HP, lots O' torque, and a motor that revs to infinity. You'd never hafta take it out of 1st gear! <iframe width="1072" height="603" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/7_leYC8CX_4" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Liked autocrossing my boxsters, even with street tires got really close to the z06 time with slicks. Being fastest wasn't worth swapping tires

The mean boss's wife made me go outside and take pictures this morning.

Where is everyone?
We had a very wet spring all the way through June. In July the rains almost stopped. We have less than a .10 of rain in July. We were up to .12 in August, until last night. We have had almost 4 inches of rain since going to bed last night. I was planning on mowing today, but it is kinds wet out there. Only 73 degrees but truly at 100% humidity. So no mowing today. Tomorrow is the PCA club breakfast, and on Sunday is the autocross. That will be a hot one. At least we have shade and a ceiling fan to stand under. |
I’m here, somewhere.
|
We were out and about most of the day yesterday.
Sammy, I wasn't sure you could say torque and S2000 in the same sentence. They are a hoot, but not known for torque. |
You can’t! Don’t you have to start them out downhill? :D
|
We used to have a group of S2000 drivers come autocross with us. Most of them were set up for the tack, but still streetable. The did real well. Like a souped up Miata.
We will be heading off to the PCA club breakfast in a while. Down in Moore, right where two different F5 tornadoes came through. It is all built back and looks normal. |
Phew, I decided to go ahead and mow the lawn since it was only going to get hotter over the next few days.
It was "only" 92 when I started and 96 when done. The Vantage Vue I have is a little weather station gizmo in my back yard on the end of a 20 foot pole up in the air. The back yard area where it is located is in the corner of the property, and the stockade fence on one side, and the storage building on the other with the recent rains it is a micro climate there. My Vantage Vue shows 97 degrees, and 51% humidity, and a heat index of 115. I have to have it there to be away from the trees to be able to measure the rain. Tomorrow for the Autocross the high for the day is forecast at 102 and sunny. Gonna be a sweaty autocross. The tires will not need much warmup time. They are virgin tires, and this will be their first autocross. Only 4,500 miles on them so the mold release is worn off! Now I need to go get the car ready for autocross. Check tire pressure, be sure the last of the "stuff" I packed for the trip is out and put up, get the helmet, and cool vest ready. Gonna be a fun day tomorrow! |
Sorry guys, this medication puts me right to sleep.
looked up the 2005 cayenne turbo, $10,600. Got that for it, hard to find Wheels are worth $3500. found a 2006 turbo, kbb says, $14,100,listed on car lot for $13,999. |
Buenos Dias, y’all. We actually wore jackets for a while this morning when we walked the dog at the harbor. It’s sure not mid-August weather.
I finally pulled the trigger...traded my Mazda pickup for a CPO Chevy Volt. ‘Murica! All (local) driving so far has be electric, not gas. Nice. |
My sweat glands are well flushed. It was really not bad in the pavilion, under the ceiling fans, and the breeze. In the car it was HOT but not horrible with my cool vest.
Decent turnout for such a hot day. |

Recently got a fusion hybrid as a rental and was pleasantly surprised. Really like the idea, and with a Volt I could take the HOV lane here in AZ. |
No doubt, most people mostly use their car for commuting back and forth to and from work. If it is less than 200 miles per day, (gack, I can't imagine a 100 mile commute) electric cars make sense. With my 14 step commute down the hall, not for me. And thankfully, we don't have the traffic to need a HOV lane. Back when I did commute, I could often drive 3 miles before I saw another vehicle.
The bees have found our yard again, finally. We were in the back yard cleaning the pond filters, and the bees were thick around the rose moss. Probably 100 bees on one clump of rose moss. And we have lots of rose moss and lots of other flowers back there and in the front. |
Mertnin all.
Got pre-approved to spedn $15.5K on a Cayenne Trubo, now to find one and negotiate. |
Good morning folks. First day back from the trip to Japan. I will never go back willingly in August ever again. HOT HOT HOT!!!!!!!!

Didn't really have a choice this time had to go help bring the kid home. I'd go back but in a better season.
|
Welp, looks like they accepted my offer.
Will have to see how buying another vehicle over the internets works out! |
Growing up always did our vacations in June and there was water and fishing. Usually trout fishing in the mountains, but did go to brother's house on a lake in Atlanta.
