Yheesh! It is a cloudy 68 degree day here. No aerial photography today, but we don't have any to fly anyway.

I had to do a "BBB" errand. I had a customer want a large file mailed to him in a Box, my house mail has been run today. So I wanted to drop it in a mail box that is 400 yards or so west of the intersection near my house. I was behind two cars that both went to the right lane, and drove like there was ice on the ground. I did not want to be the jerk that passed them, then slammed on my brakes to turn, so we all poked at 25 in the 45 zone until I could turn. I headed back east to go to the local fruit and and restaurant store. At the light I was behind a lady that took off like a 36 HP bug pulling a trailer in icy conditions. The car in front of me gave up and passed her, but again, I was going to go a very short distance. She turned into the same store where I was going. She parked in the handicap spot by the door. I parked in the far corner of the lot as usual. I went in, and bought the second B of my BBB errand, some bananas. I was walking out the door after paying with cash, as a sweet old lady came in, moving at the same speed as her car, hardly at all. At least she is driving safe and SLOW.

Then to the third B, some beer. I follow a car into the lot again moving in slow motion. Dang it, three super slow pokes in a row! The chick driving the final slow car was in a BMW 740 iL. Nice looking car. She had a full arm full of tattoos, and a noise ring. Not the stereotypical BMW driver. Back home in my office safe and sound.

Rain showers and thunderstorms just ended here. More on tap tonight. That’s fine by me. :)

Who knows. Some people are just in slow motion all the time.

My computer has still been churning on the project. It is getting closer. I really expected it to be done this morning, but it will be later this afternoon before that one software package is done. It will be making a GIANT tiff file.

It will take two more computer programs to do the steps to make a product I can sell to the client, or more accurately, make the product the client ordered. Maybe tomorrow afternoon I can whip it, whip it good.

My business partner flew a similar sized project the next day after he flew this one. He is doing the processing on a computer I built last year. It is a 18 12 core computer with 64 gig of ram. It is done already with processing. I got to get a new much faster computer.

My main system is one I built originally in January of 2013 to be my home email and Quicken computer. It is just old and outdated, and has only had a fast video card and a SSD as the only upgrades.

Moring all. Tad cold here at 33* this morning. office is at 70* so I won't freeze.

New to me Cayenn's cleared title will be here tomorrow and vehicle is waiting to be accepted by a shipper.
Maybe It will get here before Thanksgiving.

Just found out it has the cornering headlights like the turbo without the future headaches of air suspension. Also excited about the lighter gauge backgrounds, and the car-play stereo.

From pictures looks like I may need to restore the headlight lenses. Just a wet sand and cover with one of those car films.

Thinking about having paint restoration, then having the entire thing filmed, then doing a ceramic coating. That seems to be the ticket for nothing but washing for the next 6 years. And with the film if it gets marks or scratches, they come right out with a heat gun. At least that's what they showed on VinWiki on youtube.

One of the film products at Parade was self healing. A scratch mark just vanished when it was in the sun for a short time.

I suspect you will not want to spend the money to put a film on the entire thing. For an used car, that is really not needed. Just get the ceramic coating and wash it on occasion.

WE had my wife's Macan coated on the front part, and the tailgate loading area, and mirrors. That is enough to keep the rock chips off. The ceramic coating makes it nice and shiny.

The demo Ceramics I saw the guy drove a black 996 Turbo in all kinds of conditions to try to get it dirty so he could see how it did washing. The dirt just did not stick at all and blew off. Finally after driving on some dusty roads it showed a little dust under the whale tail where it didn't get any wind. The rest looked just washed. Then that just hosed off with a little water.

When I pulled up at my brother's house after 870 miles of road trip, he asked if I stopped and washed it at the car wash down the street. It was covered in bug for a while but in Mississippi I went trough a rain storm at highway speed. That blasted the car cleaner. It was far from pristine, but the ceramic coating does help. Dirt will still get on it, but it washes off easily.

My wife's Macan is ceramic coated as well. When she drove it up to Missouri it was filthy. The rear window area gets pretty dirty. The sides were even brownish.

Yeah hooo, the big ass project is finally done. I now an a Tiff file that is 40.8 GB (43,893,215,232 bytes) so a whopper. Another day of tweaking and I can mail him a thumb drive. Cropped down to the final size it should fit on a 32 GB thumb drive.

Nephew went to SEMA (he makes and sells vintage car/truck parts). Said he saw some new ceramic coatings that were even more amazing.

Before this trip to sema he was a proponent of Zaino (polymer), now he says the new ceramics are better.

Funny. In the fall after a hot summer 40°F is cold. In the spring after a cold winter 40°F is warm.

so true. He will have to scrape some of that chill off his car this morning to go out.

My business partner spent a lot of time in the last couple of months down in Destin, Florida. He got used to shorts and flip flops and he was staying right on the beach front. Girls in bikinis every day all the time walking around as scenery. He is going to force himself to go back in December and tough it out. He is working with the company that makes the camera system we bought. He is helping them make the new version, and learning the insides of the system. The good news is as a real user of the system, he has insights and really know what needs to be improved in software and hardware to make the system easier and better and a better final product.
