Best value would be to build up the car so it would be legal in a racing class the car typically does well in, for resale later.

I guess you missed the thread from '08...

Geronimo '74 12-30-2010 01:49 AM

I missed that one yes
Dude, nice setup!

I have a drill and a handsaw.
This one day I made a hole in a plank....
I'm a lover not a carpenter...:D

Rick V 12-30-2010 01:52 AM

Woof

I'm lucky to have access to that shop and I think I need to take advantage of it. Anyway.

Morning Rick, G. Time for bed here. No snow, but it's cold and wind.

GH85Carrera 12-30-2010 05:59 AM

Good morning guys.

Sid, I would think long and hard about a fuel cell. They are light and if you ever decide to go to Hallett or SCCA racing they will be much happier with a fuel cell. It will help with future resell as well. Just do the fuel cell and be done with it, what the heck you can charge it with that 0% credit card! :D :D

Travis944 12-30-2010 08:34 AM

Good morning all.

Sid, now that you started the good work, keep it up haha Better late than never right?

Dave, that guitar and that thread are pretty sweet man. I've always wanted to get into carpentry.

Happy Friday Rick!

Man, I just cant catch a break. The power went out at my house so my alarm clock failed to alarm me this morning. Then I run out to the car and the battery is dead. I just got to work (30 minutes late)

GH85Carrera 12-30-2010 10:06 AM

At least ya did not have frozen brakes like Rick!

I guess that is pretty unlikely problem for you.

Travis944 12-30-2010 11:37 AM

Yes, never happened to me before and I doubt it will as long as I live here in SoCal. Our high is 55* today. Sorry to hear about the brake problems Rick

GH85Carrera 12-30-2010 11:40 AM

It is 68 degrees here right now. The high may well hit 70 degrees.

Travis944 12-30-2010 11:52 AM

Its 70 degrees in my office :)

The brake saga continues. Okay the MB needed fronts in it, I decided to replace the rears while I was at it. They are the originals and have 135k on them. Okay I am still in the computer as an employee at the local MB dealer, and even with my discount (25%) the pads alone were still $150.
People say Porsche stuff is expensive.

GH85Carrera 12-30-2010 06:55 PM

Well if the new pads go 135K and 9 years that is 15 bucks a year for brakes. Not bad, but not cheap. I bought Autozone guaranteed for life brake pads for the front on my El Camino 18 years ago for 18 dollars. After 291,000 miles I may need yet another free replacement set soon. I forgot how may sets of free pads I have put on it. The rear drum shoes seem to last forever.

Morning guys.
Coffee is flowing, the shotguns are getting loaded, and I am getting myself ready for my adventure to the armpit. Wish them luck

SouthCoastPhil 12-31-2010 04:30 AM

Happy New Year, Rick V!!

GH85Carrera 12-31-2010 05:26 AM

Rick, remember to tag anything you shoot. You don't want to get a ticket for hunting without a tags or a permit.

Be moderate with the coffee consumption, it causes ya to have to stop along the way to mark your territory. On second thought that might keep em outta the way for your return trip.
