58 outside right now.
I went to my dentist yesterday. City law says I have to wear my mask from my car to the office. It would be pretty hard for him to work on my teeth with my mask on, so of course I took it off. I don't want him doing dentistry by braille. Just a routine cleaning, no issues. For the last 42 years in the same chair one of the last steps was to polish my teeth with a fluoride compound. Evidently in the era of China flu, they can't do that anymore. So he used a long q-tip and a foamy fluoride that he wiped on my teeth. I wanted to take a picture of my mouth full of foam but he sucked it out with the suction tube before I had a chance. It did not taste unpleasant, just a sweet taste. He asked if I could identify the flavor. I had no clue. He said the manufacturer calls it Cherry Cheesecake. I did not note even a hint of cherry. At least it was not unpleasant. I told him they need one for adults, a beer or bourbon flavor would be better. He said he would pass that on the distributor. I suspect he was joking. |
Morning all.
That trip to the dentist could be followed up with "honest officer I was just at the dentist". |
well the only cool thing about working from home is that I get to sit here and type with one hand while holding the grandkid.
|
So you did not do the take a grandkid to work thing before?
|
|
nope, grandma might kill me.

Back to Friday again.
Most days I have to look at my phone to see what day is it. It turns out I did win second place at the car show, so I can go get my trophy anytime they are open. I may go there today just for a little road trip. It is up in Guthrie so a bit of a drive. |
Feel like I won big with that cashiers check for my GTS!
Get to talk to my social worker about getting on Disabiility today, Also got some contractors coming to talk abuot putting up some grab handles is the shower. |
Morning all. Good to see you on here Richard.
We have more rain. Need to move a bad to storage but only have an open truck. Ah what fun. |
Around here most beds in storage just get full of spiders in a few months. Keep the headboards and frame and chunk the springs and mattress if it is going to be stored for very long. Of course the spider that most love old mattresses is the fiddle back AKA the brown recluse that leave a bite that often has nasty results.
|
That's what I have to move. Its a captains pedestal bed. Weighs a ton as its 3/4" Baltic birch plywood. I made it 20 years ago. I wanted to just give it away but the son wants to keep it for his kid.
|
Let him pay for the storage fees. He may want to get rid of it soon.

Still sunny and mid 70s here.

77 and sunny here. I just made an trip to go pick up my trophy for 2nd place in the car show for the Porsche category. I gave the owner of the body shop that sponsored the event the metal flex plate & torque converter dust cover. I did not want to send it to the landfill, and he does enough cars to use it someday.
Of course the wife of the mean old boss had one "simple errand" for me to do while I was out. She needed a new applicator for the sealant on the tile grout. Home Depot said they had 10 of them on the web site, but no clue as to where. So of course I go to the tile aisle, and look at the same sealant she is using, and they have lots of that, but not one applicator. So I found a guy with an orange apron and he looked at the same location and did not find it. Then he remembers that two aisles away is the tools for tile, and the applicators are there. I then received two more texts from the bosses wife. One was to get some mineral spirits and then another text to get some roundup. So a $40 trip for me. About the time I was leaving I got one more text, to get some milk on the way home. The speed limit is 75 now for most of the trip to Guthrie. It is the first time since I got my driveshaft balanced that I could sustain 75 and it was nice to have no vibrations. Passing one semi I hit 80 and everything was smooth as it is supposed to be. |
Cant get the walker up to 75 mph... yet
Actually, had a speed sensirive vibration issue, at 75mph as well, on my BoxsterS, turned out to be valve stem caps with a PORSCHE crest on them. Balancing wheels with the caps installed made the diffderence. Caps weighed 1/2 ounce. |
Be real sure you have some great brakes before you get to try. At 75MPH you would go right through the wall and make a big mess. Most walkers only have a friction lock on one tire. You may well lock it up, and spin.
|
No seat belt or air bags either.
|
Just like racing in the olden days!
|
Neither of my cars has airbags or ABS. Heck the El Camino does not have power windows or power door locks.
|
Heck, the Cobra doesn't have windows to roll up or down or door locks. It does, however, have ABS if you don't have strong legs.
