We are just 1/2 inch or so below average for rain so pretty much normal for most of the state.

RKDinOKC 09-28-2020 05:48 PM

Guess my coded outside button works pretty good, that's how my helper has been getgting in. Need to roundup all my remotes and program my cayenne's opener. Got till I can drive agaiin.

Hekper made burgers last night on the stove, they were not very good. I use a SmokerRoasterGrill and Charbroil the burgers. So much better.

So far the quote to redo my shower and add grab bars is $6500. That's from that bath fitters that does a one piece molded surround instead of tile.

GH85Carrera 09-29-2020 05:59 AM

Burr. It is 45 outside. We get back to mid 70s during the day.

I guess fall really is here.

Porsche-poor 09-29-2020 06:52 AM

Morning all. Yep fall is in the air for sure.

flipper35 09-29-2020 12:10 PM

Was 45* when I came in today. 65* now. Everything came to drop the tank on the Cobra to seal it up. It has an aluminum/aluminium tanks and there are a couple pinhole leaks on the welds on a top seam. No big deal until it starts sloshing around and makes a mess. I will seal it, polish it, put adhesion promoter on and clear coat it and reprogram the sending unit.

David, still sooty your way or has there been some rain to help out?

Porsche-poor 09-29-2020 02:49 PM

The air has cleaned out well with all the rain. Supposed to get some high level smoke back in tonight but it is not supposed to mess with air quality.

That seems awfully high. Do you need to remodel the shower surround? Or do you just need to add some grab bars and safety features? I'd hate to see you buy something you don't really need (unless it falls under the "want" category--that's a whole other thing). I generally prefer the look of tile (and the knowledge of the skill that went into laying it), than the pre-fab plastic look of a shower stall that reminds me of my college dorm/apartment.

Noah930 09-29-2020 10:35 PM

It's still frikkin' 90-100 degrees here. (Daily highs, fortunately not necessarily at 10 pm at night.) Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be the hottest days of this week.

GH85Carrera 09-30-2020 06:22 AM

Mid 50s this morning, and low humidity here.

I agree with Noah, that quote is silly high for some grab bars. I hate the fiberglass surrounds, that make me feel like I am in a cheap motel.

I bet you could get a all new tile shower area with grab bars for less. And don't go for one of the shower-tubs with the door in the side that opens for easy access. You will be standing or sitting in the cold tub waiting for it to fill, and then sitting there wet and cold waiting for the tub to drain out so you can get out.

GH85Carrera 09-30-2020 06:37 AM

I don't know that we paid 6 large for the all new porcelain tile floor and shower walls in our guest bathroom. It has been a long time and they did both bathrooms, and put in the heated floors.

Porsche-poor 09-30-2020 08:23 AM

Morning all. I'm betting the cost is the ADA compliance and lawyers fees.

flipper35 09-30-2020 09:49 AM

The PO of our home spent $30k to have a shower put in the downstairs bathroom. $1800 was the Water Haven shower piece of

GH85Carrera 09-30-2020 09:57 AM

Putting in a shower in a place where there was never one before is indeed expensive. To change out tile, and put in sturdy grab bars in an existing shower should not be that expensive for a standard old shower. Yea, if it was some over the top custom shower there is no price limit.

I say by a roadster and drive through a car wash.

That will be really rough this winter. And the Roadster is gonna rust out bad.

flipper35 09-30-2020 10:10 AM

Nah, they make those fancy composite ones and they have seat/steering wheel heat. Or maybe a CJ with heated seats?

GH85Carrera 09-30-2020 10:40 AM

Growing up in Hawaii we had a shower head on the back porch. It was just the "cold" water, but that felt good a hot day after biking around. Mom would make us wash off the bulk of the dirt before we could come inside. It was next to the washer and dryer and the water heater.

For some reason I feel the need to just report these email messages as spam, and not open the DOCX attachments.

No kidding.

Noah930 09-30-2020 03:25 PM

Inspired by Glen's post whoring over on the "Driver" thread, I went for a drive out to Malibu to grab some.lunch today. It's nice over on the coastal side of LA. But returning home through/to the Valley, it's 104 degrees!
