Morning. Great weekend weather. Sunny and 80 on Saturday, little overcast on Sunday and about 60. Now its back to work and all the stress that comes with it.

We had great weather this weekend. That means the boss's wife had me out there digging and slaving away. She has several plants that must be in the bamboo family, and they spread from the top and through the roots. What was a small plant was 2 square feet of roots. So we had to dig out a bunch of those, and she has friends that are going to plant them at their place. The bees love them, and there are two local bee wranglers that are long time friends, partners, and competitors. They want to plant food for the bees. Their bees come to our yard now, as they live close by.

I was allowed to mow and edge the yard as well.

Cold and windy again here. Might be 70 by the weekend. Did mow last week. Still need to drag the rake around but that can wait. New land plane should be here this week!

I have been getting a SPAM message from some "magazine" that says it wants to do a feature article about our company and how we have earned a high ranking for ESRI solutions to our customers.

We use some ESRI products, but not often, and we never marketed our ESRI skills.

But for only $3,500 we can have reprints of the article for our web site! Yea, right. Hard Pass.

Wife and daughter went to a Taylor Swift concert in Atlanta, my son and I needed something to eat so we grilled some meat!!!
New York Strips with Montreal seasoning, baked potatoes and steamed broccoli. The next morning we had the rest of the steak with some scrambled eggs seasoned with the Montreal seasoning also. The boss has had me working on his 911 all day. I just replaced the AC compressor and receiver dryer. Next up the front shocks.

My brother lives in Montgomery.

Phew, just some straining and cussing and the front shocks are done. Just pop out the brake hose clip to have more room, zip off the nut on top with mu impact gun, strain and fight with compressing the old shock, and it rotates right out to slide the dust cover off and then cuss and strain to get the weird nut that holds the shock in place. I have a 3 foot cheater bar, and it comes right off if everything is just level and torque applied in the right angle. Then mop out the oil oil, drop in the new shock, tighten up the new weird nut, put back on the dust cover, and the rubber bushing, compress and cuss and air for the hole, and in it goes. Zip down to "good and tight" with the impact, and put back the brake line clip. Ta Da. Then repeat for the other side.

With a helper it is not bad, by myself, I could never have removed the old weird nuts on the top of the shocks.

I have a wonderful ace in the hole. One of my buddies recently retired after 35 years working at the local Porsche dealership. He has been there done that hundreds of times, and know the tricks and is a great help.

Back into the garage to finish the projects on the 911. The AC compressor swap has a vacuum leak, dang it. So off to the parts store for some other o-rings. The compressor manifold from the old compressor has to be swapped onto the new compressor. Those are weird size o-rings in thickness and diameter and not part of a normal AC o-ring set. No big deal, but it need to hold a solid vacuum overnight and then 150 PSI of nitrogen overnight with no leaks. Just a tiny leak is way too much.

I think I found my leak. Some ham fisted moron of a mechanic over tightened the fitting and crushed the o-ring. That dummy figured when using a 27 mm wrench apply the same pressure on the end of the wrench as a 10 mm wrench, and if tight is good, a little more is better. What a dummy. I can't believe I did that.

Anyway, another o-ring from the stack of AC O-rings and all is tight, I think!

It has held 101 PSI for over an hour. I will let it sit for another hour, and if all is good, pull a vacuum. Then recharge with nitrogen, pull a vacuum, recharge to 100 PSI with nitrogen one last time. Then pull a 4 hour vacuum down to 100 microns, with fresh oil in the vacuum pump, and let that sit overnight. If it holds, it will be ready for some refrigerant.

One thing for sure, no professional anywhere would go through all of that, but I want to be 100% positive there is not a speck of moisture hiding as ice in the far reaches of the 40 feet of hoses, 4 condensers, the evaporator and receiver dryer or the other parts of the system.

I is remotely (theoretically) possible I might be a bit anal about it and overdoing it, but is is just nitrogen and electricity and time.

I pressurized the system to 101 PSI at 12:35 PM.

I checked it at 3:18 PM and it was at 102 PSI. I have speculate there were pieces of ice that melted and vaporized into the dry nitrogen. I have no proof, but the temperature in the garage did not vary by more than a couple degrees at most.

So, I pulled another vacuum down to 648 microns, (0.012530232060612769 PSI) and then pressurized to 110 PSI. I will let that sit overnight. It will be interesting to see the results tomorrow. I may cry if it is dropping and really scratch my head in wonder it it goes up. It is easier to say 648 microns instead of 0.012530232060612769 PSI as my analog gauges don't read that low.
