Yep, not like Oklahoma http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687475319.jpg I rode the Palm Spring Tram today to the top, and had the best meal I have had in California so far. |
Morning all. Looks like a lot of fun.
|
Phew. I am back home safe and sound. About 3,000 miles total.
I have 191,000 plus miles on it now. Two 11 hour days, and today was an east 375 mile trip. |
Got rain finally. Been 2 weeks without and the farmers were getting worried.
|
Liquid sunshine! None of that here either.
|
It rained several times while I was gone. Everything around here is GREEN!
Unlike the beige - brownish of California, Arizona and New Mexico. |
I think that is the official state color.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687871064.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687871064.JPG The sea bass was excellent, and the Carmel cheese cake was perfect. At the two very overpriced parade banquets the food was not nearly as good, and I would say a 2 star level poor, especially for the price. Phew, I got up at the crack of dawn, got my breakfast scarfed down, and some coffee in me, and went to wash off 50 pounds of bugs from the car. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687871441.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1687871441.JPG The upper part of the front valence, just under the bumper is really hard to get to with the car on the ground. I will put it on the lift to clean that part properly of bugs. There were bug hits on the wheels, and even the doors. Going through parts of New Mexico, from Roswell to Clovis it sounded like the bugs were trying the send a message in Morse code. Wack, whack wack. One whasp looking bug was really tough. As I parked the 911 I noticed that even though he had embedded himself under the windshield wiper, and pretty much bifurcated himself, he was still alive. I flipped him onto the ground to step on him and end any pain. He was still kicking! So I ground him into the pavement to be sure he was dead. I was planning on edging and mowing after I washed the car. A rain storm came in, and has dumped .85 inches of rain. No mowing today. It would have been a good day as the dew was low. Now, I bet tomorrow it will be heavy dew. Oh well, free water! |
Morning all. Yeah those bugs look bad. Turn up the music you won't hear them hit.
|
Hello all. Well its Wednesday middle of the week, boring...............
|
Food truck at work today. Daughter works a few minutes across town so she is stipping over to have lunch on the roof here.
|
Cool. My kids are to far away for lunch.

Phew, the yard is edged, trimmed and mowed.
I hired a neighborhood kid to mow it while I was gone. Last year he edged and mowed and did a good job. I guess it was like a first date or something. This year he did not edge at all, scalped the yard in several places, and did not empty the grass bag enough, so lots of clippings on the yeard. And when he dumped the grass, he did not use a bag, so just grass right in the trash can, and stinking up the area. It looks a lot better now. I got out there fairly early. With the rain yesterday it was 66% humidity. It is 90 now with a heat index of 101. Kinda thick. Time for a shower when I cool off a bit more. |
We had enough rain now we need to mow. Been a while.
|
Morning all. Glen I assume you have heard about Sid's dad?
