I am working on a big print job, a dozen 40x60 prints and lots of other smaller prints. I always insist on a test strip "test print" to be sure the prints are going to look just perfect. Their printer is a bit different than what my monitor shows so it takes some tweaking.
I had two test prints to pick up, and the print service bureau is pretty close to a nice Cajun food place. My wife head me say I was going to get test prints, and she wanted to go along, and may we could drop by the Cajun restaurant. Well maybe. They do have some killer Shrimp and grits. As the commedian Jerry Clower used to say, it is so good it make ya wanna slap yer momma for never cooking like that! So I had an expensive lunch with her along, and I can't even make it an business expense. ;) |
not even entertaining the bosses wife?
|
Nope, she is not a client, or even an employee.
|
well fix that problem before the boss cuts you off.
|
If the bosses wife is happy, the boss is happy, everyone is happy.
|
The boss's wife lives at the office so hire her as security staff and then it is a business lunch. Wait till next week and promote her to head of security (the pups) and take her out again to celebrate.

The company bookkeeper (me) is a real stickler for legitimate deductions only. I was balancing the company credit card statement yesterday and tracking down every single expense to categorize it accurately. We bought a crap load of weird parts for the new camera system, from various vendors.
The good news is that we used the credit card, and not checks or cash to buy them. If it is more than $600 per year we have to have a W9 for cash or check expenses. If we use a credit card, no W9 needed, as the IRS can see every purchase and trace the money flow. At the end of the year, my CPA goes over it all, and figures our profit and loss and does the company tax filing. After getting audited in or first year when we had very little business and lots of expenses, I am careful to make it all legit. |
Morning all. Good plan. Nothing stalls business like an audit. IN better new here the A1C is down to 5.6. I don't know what else I can cut out at this point.
|
I would be happy at 5.6.
|
We shall see what the doc says. I'm sure it is based on the meds.
|
Morning all. A brisk 44 on the way to work.

68 degrees this morning, higs in the low 70s is the forecast. I am going to go out to the garage to tinker on the boss's 911, and play in the garage.
Tomorrow fall arrives and near freezing temps are possible. |
That is what happened here. One day warm and the next poof heavy coat time.

Beautiful day here. No rain so I "get" to go mow the yard before it rains again.
When I went to the track day a couple of weeks ago, one thing they require is to remove all the crap in the trunk, except the spare tire. So I unloaded my tools for taking the wheels off. I looked and looked for the lock for the locking lugs, and I gave up, and just figured it had to be in there somewhere. When I got home I pulled everything out, and even the spare, and still I could not find the damn thing. So today I whipped out my bore-scope and went CSI on it. I finally found it wedged up next to the battery, and the front condenser blower, totally out of sight. I figured, that is is, and I removed all of the locks and put in regular lugs. No more locking lugs. They are in a bag in the cabinet, and if someone wants to by them someday, fine. Off to mow! Hopefully the last time for a while. My usual last mowing is the day after Thanksgiving. The Bermuda will be dormant by then, and the Fescue will need a trim by then. |
I should mow, but this late in the year I wont!
|
I am in leaf raking mode at this point. Every night when I get home.
|
The ground was still a bit wet, but we are due for more rain and colder temps. I wanted to get er done and out of the way. The Fesuce in the back yard was the tallest. Bermuda just does not like cool evenings.

Having fun today. I had a 7:45 appointment at my ophthalmologist for my yearly checkup.
I was lucky in that as I left it was overcast. With sunglasses it was not too bright and my eyes are still dilated and my office is really bright! This sucks. I know it takes a few hours for my eyes to go back to normal. My left eye cataract is getting worse, and I will have to have it fixed in a year or so. Not just yet!I still have 20-30 vision with glasses. It was 20-20 last year. |
