Now its time to dive into the shifter.

GH85Carrera 01-29-2024 10:17 AM

Hey, I did a project today, I will wait until tomorrow to tackle the shifter. That is likely to be a full day project.

I just got the mail and I had a pre approved application for American Express business card for a company we started, did one clients projects and then closed the company, and it has been closed for years. I also got the same application for a company that I reserved the name, but we never used and I never renewed the name. It was a possible name for out company, but we did not go it.

I just ripped the applications up, and trashed them. It is just amazing the credit card applications I get. I have one credit card for my business, and one for my personal use, and my debit card. I have zero plans to add to the three.

We officially hit 70 degrees yesterday, and only a whisper of a breeze. It was NICE!

We had tow teenage boys ring the doorbell yesterday late in the afternoon. They were painting on the house numbers on the curb for $20 cash. I did it myself last time, and it was lots of work and I made the stencils myself at work for free. Twenty bucks was a bargain. It looks good. The old paint I had done was about worn off to the concrete and hard to read.

The two sounds a lot like Bill and Ted from the excellent adventure movies. I just hope they were smart enough not to me huffing the paint. I know it is hard for teenagers to even buy spray paint due to graffiti. Whatever, they were both out there hustling for work.

Porsche-poor 01-30-2024 07:18 AM

Morning all. Good for them to be out making a buck or two. We have no curbs to paint on so don't send them my way.

Today at 11:00 is Parade registration. I am confirmed for the DE on the last day of Parade.

It will be an easy 700 mile drive down I-40 (boring) to Birmingham, AL.

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 07:20 AM

Morning. Yeah a tad far for me. It was much less than that when someone I know didn't show up....... LOL

GH85Carrera 01-31-2024 07:23 AM

Next year will be a whopping 6.5 trip to parade.

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 07:25 AM

6.5 hours, miles or minutes?

GH85Carrera 01-31-2024 07:33 AM

I just doubled checked, 2025 Parade is 14 miles, and 19 minutes of drive time according to Google Maps. The 6.5 miles is to the closest casino and horse racing track, that I have only been to twice since they opened up 35 years ago.

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 08:31 AM

Can't beat that. I'll skip that one to.

GH85Carrera 01-31-2024 09:53 AM

2026 is likely to be back on the NE side of the country, and likely north. With the Poconos in far east PA, then Palm Springs, then Birmingham and in 2025 in OKC, they will likely do a NE part of the country in 2026.

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 09:55 AM

so it will be a while before its back close to me. Oh well.

GH85Carrera 01-31-2024 10:48 AM

911s make great road trip cars! I love road trips in my 911. Two guys drive down from Anchorage, AK every year, and they went to Boca Raton, Florida in 2019. One of the guys drives his 85 911 all the way.

He covers it in blue painter's tape to protect it on the Alcan highway. Strip off the tape, and a car wash and it looks great.

His buddy drives a Boxster and lives two blocks south of the 911 owner and he does not get the free Michelin tires for the long distance driver since the 911 owner gets it.

Phew, the boss's wife said I had to drive her to the local rock selling place. She picked out 150 pounds with 3 landscaping rocks for the next new garden. I was allowed to load them and unload them, and I bet she will let me dig a spot for them to go in the new garden, after we dig out the area for the garden and through lots of tree roots. It will be fun!

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 11:03 AM

Ok the 911 is scheduled to be dropped off on 2/14. Pray for no rain.

GH85Carrera 01-31-2024 12:29 PM

All 911s came from the factory with windshield wipers. A little rain will not hurt the car. Just put the roof on!

Porsche-poor 01-31-2024 01:07 PM

With my luck the wiper blades are a mess. Not sure if the top leaks. I never drive it in the rain if I can help it.

GH85Carrera 02-01-2024 07:33 AM

I try to avoid rain, and just keep my car in the garage in inclement weather, except for road trips.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1706801354.jpg

My car has been in zero degree weather, 118 degree weather, and all day rain road trips.

The 2023 trip to Palm Springs trip had one very brief very light shower in the Texas panhandle. Only the 2024 trip to Fort Worth for parade had no rain at all. It has been out in very rainy weather on trips.

GH85Carrera 02-03-2024 07:35 AM

We had three 70 degree days. Love it.

The boss's wife set up her grow operation in the guest bathroom again this year. She has planted lots of seeds from the plants she had in the gardens from last year.

She also has decided I need to make a Koi pond cleaner. So we went to Lowe's and bought a small Shop Vac, I had to order a manifold piece from Amazon. I will drill a 2 - 7/8 inch hole in the very lowes point on the side of the tub, and put in a ball valve so we can just open the valve to drain the water back out, through several filters to trap the alga, and return the water to the pond. We top it off with well water, but that water is cold so we can't add too much.

It is gonna be fun!

Porsche-poor 02-05-2024 07:11 AM

Morning all. Got back from CA yesterday. Just in time to avoid the nasty weather hitting them.
