I have seen ZZ Top several times. About 20 years ago several friends came up to Oklahoma City and we went to see them "before they quit touring" but Billy Gibbons keeps on going. That last concert I went to I wore ear plugs to prevent further hearing loss.

Porsche-poor 03-07-2024 08:15 AM

Morning all. We have seen them twice and enjoyed both concerts.

Cold here. Headed to the airport later to pick up the kids.

Just rainy here today but normal temps for a change. Tree trimming this weekend. Syrup is all boiled down and in containers. On call tomorrow so an early morning of sitting by the computer waiting. At least on call is once every few months now on a Saturday instead of every other week 24/7.

It was nice and warm yesterday. Today the cold front arrived, and brought more rain, and a bug temperature drop down to 38 and windy.

We have the Porsche dealership's Motors in the morning tomorrow. It is gonna be in the high 30s, so lots of people inside, and fewer on in the parking lot admiring each others Porsches. The sun will be back, so if the winds are low, we can all be outside. It is free coffee and donuts at the very least.

GH85Carrera 03-09-2024 02:02 PM

We had a great turnout for the dealership event. Almost 50 club members cam out to show their cars, eat free donuts, and drink free coffee. There were lots of cool cars from the club members.

I got home and the boss's wife said before we can watch the F1 race, we had to clean out the storm shelter, and get it ready for spring thunderstorms. Several dead crickets one dead skink, and several leaves and debris. That is done.

Morning all. Headed out soon to load two suv's and head to Eugene to unload them tomorrow at housing for the oldest. All freeway driving so easy but boring.

GH85Carrera 03-10-2024 08:07 AM

So you are the moving company today. Sounds like fun. Not.

A photo of my car someone shot at the dealership yesterday.

yep that's me. The new mom and pop service.

Phew, another chore is done. The mean boss's wife told me today that it was time to mow the Fescue and shade grasses. We have mostly shade grass on the east side of the house. It is a strip of land about 5 feet wide, and a standard sidewalk up against the house. I knew it was kinda high but it really did need mowing. I went ahead and got the shade grass in the front where the trees was before as well. Lots of the back yard is shade grass from before two trees that are not ours were taken out due to ice storm damage, so the back yard is slowly converting itself back to all Bermuda.

Bermuda just loves 100+ temps and full sun, and it will eventually overrun the shade grass.

Exciting fun filled day so far. The humidifier is all cleaned up, and put back in the attic. And I changed the filter in the HIVAC system. Phew, I need a nap. ;)

GH85Carrera 03-12-2024 07:04 AM

The mean boss's wife made me take her to the local rock supply place. She bought 1.6 tons of rock. No comes making of a new flower bed in the middle of the west side front yard, where the Chinese Pistach tree was. I will "get" to find the lawn sprinkler heads, and get them moved and a stand pipe rigged to water the new garden that is going in, to replace of the tree. It will be about 10 feet by 8 feet and full of more plants.

It made my upcoming anniversary present to her easier. I got her a gift certificate to her favorite nursery. Golly more fun for me, just relocating the sprinkler heads will be a blast. ;)

Morning all. Back from move in. Now its back to job hunting.

Porsche-poor 03-14-2024 09:36 AM

off to go pick up the 911 and pay the bill.....................

GH85Carrera 03-14-2024 10:10 AM

It is always hard to write large checks.

Our yard is really rocky, we had a pallet of stones delivered for the new garden. Only 1.6 tons. Now the fun starts.

GH85Carrera 03-14-2024 10:12 AM

I am really glad the property taxes are not based on the total mass of the property. The many flowerbed and tons of new soil brought in would raise it even higher.

I played grease monkey on Wednesday. I changed the oil on the El Camino, which is pretty straightforward and easy. Except the oil filter wrench fell off the filter as I was tightening it, and it droped right into the open oil drain pan and splashed oil all over me.

Then I did the mean boss's wife's Macan. The first challenge was to get the Macan into the single bay garage. I have to push the button to fold the mirrors in, and use the camera system to center the Macan over the pit. Then raise it up.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1710509339.jpg

I can't go up very high to avoid the roof smasing into the garage door light.

It is really pretty easy to change the oil, except the panel on the bottom of the engine and transmission area has to come off. It has something like 16 Torx head screws with large washers and two large plastic button clips holding it in place. Get that off, and the drain plug is right there. It is a little plastic plug that just takes a screwdriver inserted and a simple twist, and out comes the oil. Use a new plug, and then put the large panel back in place. Lower it down, and pop off the plastic engine cover, and grab my 32 mm socket, and remove the oil filter canister.

It has a cute little filter, and o-ring.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1710509083.jpg

Pull the old filter out, and insert the new one, and replace the o-ring on the filer housing cap, and then snap the plastic cover on, and refill with oil.

One last step is to plug in in the OBD-2 diagnostic tool, and reset the oil change warning to tell the car the oil has been changed.

My neck is sore from holding my head off the ground while under the Macan removing and replacing the large panel.

Morning all. Sounds like the boss owes you a beer or two.

Yea, I made him pay for our 32 year anniversary dinner last night at the really nice restaurant where we had our first date.
