livi 11-12-2009 03:26 AM

Making an effort.

Good news is that I got elected to the Board tonight...

Congratulations on your election win. You are now a board member of War Bonnet region PCA.

livi 11-12-2009 06:26 AM

Well, compadres, I feel slightly optimistic about my life lately. There are signs that two or three major issues in my life may potentially kick in during the next 6 months or so. If so, my life will improve substantially. Reluctant to reveal details, but you will the first to know if it comes together.

Geronimo '74 11-12-2009 08:01 AM

Marcus, it's obvious to all of us what those issues are.

1: you're a hermaphrodite and have decided to have your male genitals removed
2: You are quitting your medical career to become a full time fluffer
3: You realise you still not have your driver's licence and decided to take driving lessons.

(All kidding aside, we hope everything works out the way you want)

Schumi 11-12-2009 08:17 AM

I'm off to bed. I've been up for over a day now. I've never been this busy in my life.

In the last 24 hour's I've:

- designed a few bits of suspension and chassis jigging for a formula car
- did 3 hours of running an abrasive jet CNC machine to cut said jigging
- worked on a dynamic controls systems project (aka read the project abstract and gave up)
- spent several hours spec'ing out mil-spec MEMS accelerometers and rate-sensors for the development of an inertial measurement platform (to be strapped to said formula car)
- spent the following several hours reading about how MEMS accelerometers actually work

My life is ridiculously boring, and nerdy sounding when you type it down like that.

Glad to hear it Markus. I hope to be able to make a post like that sometime soon.

Geronimo '74 11-12-2009 08:28 AM

I hope we all can make posts like that! :):):):):):)

Schumi 11-12-2009 08:28 AM

Rick V 11-12-2009 08:57 AM

So what did you do with your free time?

I think a lot of would love to be able to do that stuff. Maybe not for a living, but for a fun project car. Get some sleep!

Geronimo '74 11-12-2009 09:51 PM

Morning lads,

still need sleep, I just can't seem to wake up properly...

porsche4life 11-12-2009 10:12 PM

I need sleep bad too... Stupid chemistry... Must... Study...

livi 11-12-2009 11:59 PM

Morning, lads.

Oh dear, really looking forward to the weekend. Need rest. The New Influenza is hitting us hard in pediatrics and everyone is working like mad. Last night a girl died. Awful.

slodave 11-13-2009 12:02 AM

Hey Markus..

It's apparently hitting Italy pretty good too right now.

Geronimo '74 11-13-2009 12:40 AM

I'm getting my flue shot tomorrow. I'm in the high risk category, so I can get vaccinated earlier than the general public.
A little bit of mixed feelings with it, but I'm not looking forward to getting sick... so that's why I'm going.

Rick V 11-13-2009 12:59 AM

Morning guys

the_webbster 11-13-2009 01:08 AM

is this the official thread for miscelleneous chit-chat?

word to all the euro-pelicans.

My 10 yr old son is recovering from H1N1 (thanks tamiflu) and my wife didn't get out of bed this morning. I'M NEXT!!

but I'm not getting sick and I'm not getting the shot either. don't believe in that crap.

the good news is that the '78 british racing green euro spec 930 I am looking at is going for PPI in exactly 7 hrs.:D

Rick V 11-13-2009 01:22 AM

We call this thread the breakfast club, sorta.

slodave 11-13-2009 01:23 AM

Misc. chit-chat????

We discuss important, life changing subjects in this thread, I'll have you know!

Sorry to hear about your kid. I hope he recovers fully soon.

That avatar has got to go if you plan on sticking around...

Rick V 11-13-2009 01:25 AM

Bwahahahahahahahahaha
Thanks for the laugh Dave.

Rick V 11-13-2009 01:32 AM

Well today I get that root canal finished that they started last week. They found an infection in the tooth, soooooooooooooooo been running around with a hollow tooth and a temp patch. It is amazing, I never realized just how much my teeth were hurting till they don't hurt anymore.

livi 11-13-2009 01:33 AM

Welcome, my Norwegian brother!

slodave 11-13-2009 01:33 AM

Just watch out for the ice cream...

the_webbster 11-13-2009 01:35 AM

the avatar will go, when I have something worthy to change it with!

I don't feel like an official member of the club yet - just an honourary associate memeber, so to speak.

I am one of the prowlers, sifting through the forum daily and skimming off lots and lots of information. man, what a resource! without this board I don't think my buying a porsche would be realistic.

so here's a question: when is one an official member of the club?
1.upon payment
2. when freight company pick up the car
3. Car boards ship
4. car arrives in country
5. car passes customs and is registered
6 first drive

??

slodave 11-13-2009 01:39 AM

You an official member when...

Your wife notices that you are nowhere to be found in the house... Only to be found in the garage, sitting in your new-to-you 911.... Grinning like a fool, making stupid vroom, vroom noises...

well Dave if I am the only one here, stupid enough to actually have a wife, how did the rest of you slackers get in here?

slodave 11-13-2009 01:42 AM

You wouldn't be the happy-go-lucky Dave we all know.
My disposition doesn't seem to fit ya, although your Italian seems to be coming along well:D

the_webbster 11-13-2009 02:04 AM

My wife has already noticed that I spend hours on this forum so I guess I'm part way there...

about the avatar - I'll keep it until the pcar shows up and figure something out then. but thanks for the offer.

Og takk så mykket for velkomsten Livi. vi skulle hatt en skandinaviske avdeling her! Det er ikke du som har lagt ut filmene av en hvit 500hp 930 på youtube? det er i alle fall en av dine svenske p-brødrene.

slodave 11-13-2009 02:16 AM

Markus doesn't have a 500hp 930... He won't even drive the speed limit.

svandamme 11-13-2009 02:18 AM

he's no Vattanen or Raikonen, that's for sure.
makes you wonder if he's really a Sweed at all
