Some of it will depend how locked down her office network is.

My wife had to go to a local Wendy's to download the proper files to be able to even use the network at her office. The network is locked up very tight at the University where she works. I guess with tons of students they have to be very careful with acces to the network.

I have an app for my iPhone that lets me RDP to clients servers. Should work to any pc that has RDP enabled.

It's more than just installing the app. :) If it's at an office, firewall ports need to be opened, RDP has to be enabled on the office pc... ;)

she can take control of her office machine from the home pc and read these emails but was looking for a portable way of doing it and the Droid will not.

Sounds like she needs something that will do vpn and vnc ie., remote access. Especially if the "files" are trying to open local pc/local network resources.

We do a LOT of that kind of stuff at the company I work for. You have to do VPN to work on anything from off-site. Users are always having connectivity problems with the resources, even when users are on the local network. Many of our users are going iPad and are loving it.

Last Friday there was a HelpDesk issue posted saying the FORKLIFT couldn't access the internet, yes, the Forklift. I have no idea why that would be an issue.
