Glen, there are no restrictions on how far you can fly VFR, as long as it is done VFR, day or night. Recreational and Sport pilots have more restrictions but a regular PP can fly coast to coast as long as they don't fly into restricted airspace or into IFR conditions.

So you would have to be part 135 to operate the camera?

Did advanced sharepoint training yesterday. It looks like it works really cool until you figure out to actually do the things you need to do requires 3rd party software/consultants. Did show us that there are several very large companies that their entire web sites are sharepoint, GMC being one of them.

Applescript is a LOT more powerful and easier to set things up with though. And applescript has libraries of applescript commands in almost every apple program. Have a video made in the 90s somewhere showing a business workflow setup with Applescript using a Fllemaker database that automatically generated and tracked everything thru the business. It had features back then that were touted yesterday as new and cool.

Am assuming this rain is close enough to the 4th of July people will be setting of fireworks with wild abandon. Pop, crack, zip, pow, ooo, aaaah.

It’s been overcast and cool all day today. We went inland about 25 miles and the temps jump from around 70 at the coast to around 90 degrees inland. I’m glad to be back where it’s cool and gloomy.

Dang it. Had to take Pepper to the vet. She was shaking her head and scratching at her ears and they stinked like ear wax. Warshed them out with some dog ear wash stuff. It didn't seam to phase the itchy shakin scratchin though. The emergency vet recommended a 24/7 vet that claims they don't charge for 24/7 service. They were on the other side of town.

If Pepper hadn't been shakin her head and scratchin so much would have waited for her regular vet Monday. That 24/7 place took f o r e v e r. What would have taken her regular vet 15 minutes took them 4 hours! These guys gave me ear drops for her, shaved under her ears (only kinda) but didn't even try to clean em, gave me some spray stuff for the shaved parts, and 2 different pills, a steroid and an antibiotic. And it costed twice what her regular vet charges for the shaken scrathing at her ears thing.

They also wanted to run more tests to tell exactly what it was that would have doubled the price again. Asked if the treatment would be any different, they said no. So opted out of the extra tests. No telling how much longer THAT would have takenQ

Her regular vet usually just gives her a shot to stop the itching and help stop the infection. Tells me if that didn't stop it after a week bring her back. It usually clears it right up for 6 months or more.

Guess you never know how good you have it. Been going to Pepper's regular vet since my first Golden Penny 17 yrs, then Camber 13 yrs, and now Pepper 3 yrs. Thats 33 years total. When I first started going he had a 911Targa. Got married and sold it when they started having kids. Remarked he had plenty of mony until they started having kids. Now that his boys have graduated college and are on their own he got a Boxster.

The worst part is the 2 pills I gotta give her twice a day. It is a battle. Nothing ever seems easy.

I spent yet another afternoon in the garage working on the Z. I'm pretty much done with cleaning up the surface rust under the dash and I'm going to finish applying sound deadening mat tomorrow or Tuesday, and then install the new firewall insulation pad. I feel like I'm starting the slow process to put back together the interior of my car. Heck, maybe, I'll get to drive the Z one of these days...nahhhh, no such luck!

Holey Cat Buckets. Besidedss the front HVAC fan being dead, $700 P&L, the Compressor is burnt up. $2300 P&L. Holey Freakin Cat Buckets!

Also not very happy with the 928. This thng hunts coming down to idle and most times stalls. Great, pull up to a stop sign or light and it hunts then stalls. It is NOT tuned worth a crap, I don't care how many miles since the rebuild. Also put a new hatch latch in becuase the switch did not open it and it had the plastic parts are too old a brittle. The switch opens it now, BUT NOT WITH THE KEY? Didn't they even try it? And after the rebuild the shifter is so misaligned it has broken the tabs that hold the shift boot. Arrrrgh.

My world is crumbling around me.

Good rainy morning. Three days of rain. I normally mow on weekends but we have have over 3 inches of rain in the last few days. Over 7.5 for the month. That is great, but why all at once?

I will have to bail the hay by the time it dries out.

That sucks about your AC Richard. Most HIVAC systems need a total upgrade to the new standard stuff. Be glad your AC guy can still get the old stuff. It really sounds like a racket when they tell you the outside condenser and the evaporator in the garage has to be all ripped out and all new heater and AC system installed. Usually 10 to 15 grand depending on the house.

The A/C on the Cayenne is what went out and is going to cost $3000. Totally replaced the HVAC in my house several years ago for only $2500! But my HVAC guy gave me a huge break because he replaced it over a Memorial weekend. And because it was in the low 70's all weekend I was okay with him going to the lake mid install, ie., nothing in the HVAC closet. Did some searching and the cheapest I found the unit he put in was $500 more than he charged for the total install.

Ordered a set of tires for the Cayenne this morning from Tirerack, $1007. And that's just for all season tires! And they are well below the wear bars.

Probably happening to me because I told Bob he shouldn't be driving his Honda Oddity with the transmission shifting funning or he would have to replace it instead of just a oil and filter change. He said the Honda tech said it would be fine. I told him to be careful of that Honda tech because he makes more money replacing the transmission.

Ouch. Man I thought the AC in the 911 was pricey, but nothing like that. It is one of the reasons I love the El Camino. It is a 31 year old car, has 365,000 miles, and AC kicks butt. The compressor is getting a little noisy but it hopefully will last another few years. It is right on top and easy enough to change out but I don't want to anytime soon.

Yep, the fan is the first thing they install in the dash, and the Compression is not easy to get at either, because they had to fit the Turbos and all their plumbing and intercoolers. It is still cheaper than selling and getting a newer Cayenne that will have the same stuff wear out in as many miles/years.

Kinda makin me yearn for the roomy engine compartment of my old full size GMC Jimmy. However, did go thru 3 NEW compressors before I got one that actually worked. AC Delco junk.

Yea, the evaporator fan that blows the cold air, it under 20 bucks, and takes three screws and only take a couple of minutes to take it out. It too is right on top. My last one started drawing so much power it burned up the fan speed selector switch and the power relay. Both are easy to replace and cheap.

I can't even imagine how much it would cost on my wife's car. Often the alternators, starters, or AC compressors are hidden away or stuck in the inaccessible places and have insane prices.

Changing the starter on the Elky is just a greasy job, and the starter weighs about 200 pounds. Well OK, that might be an exaggeration. It is one heavy chunk and getting it up into position is done by feel. The good news is it is AutoZone guaranteed forever unit. It has been on there over 65,000 miles. The alternator last a few years and makes racket. I have two alternators. One is an AutoZone unit and the other is a local built unit. I just swap them back and forth when one dies. It only takes 10 minutes if I am taking my time.

After owning that Elky for 27 years, and driving over 300,000 miles I have repaired of replaced almost everything at least once. It is still orders of magnitude cheaper than a car payment or buying something newer.
