$1200 a month for a studio apartment with no possibility of a garage to work on my car is going to kill me.

Right now I live in a 3 bed/3 bath split level with a 2 car garage, big kitchen and dining room, etc for $750 a month.

It seems that our Northern brethren have puculiar posting habits....
We have this guy, I think Marcus is his name, he has adopted the post and run technique....
Glad to hear your car is about to be finished!
Good times are coming but beware of the turbo lag!
Keep us posted about when you'll get here!

But I consider them a score either way... 500 each isn't exactely pricey...

Just look at it this way Schumi.... This is a major score on your resume. Saying you were a chassis engineer for any company sounds good.... Hey maybe its only for 5yrs... so what..... Its a fun chapter in your life.....

I may head that way for a few years when I am done with school... the VA out there is paying pharmacists ~120k/year.....

copy from technical forum:

WTF

Seats are aftermarket, not even carbon fiber....
That is twice, yes, two times that I dash out my money for bargain seats.
Two times for FAKE stuff....
If it seems to good to be true, IT IS!!....

First time is sold the seats with a minimal loss.
This time the seller will take them back. (except for the fact that he should have informed me that they were aftermarket, he is a stand up guy. I guess he assumed it was clear to me that they were not OEM)

HE SHOOTS, HE MISSES (AGAIN)

kind of a bummer, in a big way...

Next seats I buy, I'll buy from an authorized Recaro dealer.
To hell with them bargains

btw, get decent leather original Porsche sports seats for your car, it'll look a lot less riced up and probably sit more comfortable as well

Dude, why didn't you?
Don't matter, seats are going back tonight, full refund.
I still want Recaro's but I'm buying new ones, real ones.
OEM turbo seats with the big bolsters are too pricey when in good condition.
My OEM seats are in real good shape and I'm not buying other seats if they are not in equal or better condition.

They're not turbo seats, mine, just regular seats, half leather, black, pinstripe inserts.

Be careful in Santa Monica. Friend of mine lived there for two years and it turned him into one of the crazy liberals. People I met that were working for Apple in Cupertino shared houses. Two or three couples in a 3 bedroom home sharing the house payment. My friend that had an apartment was paying $2000 a month for a 1 bedroom efficiency and a shared parking garage. He paid that because he was making crazy money and it was walking distance from the Apple offices in downtown Cupertino.

The ones you posted, didn't look all that good to me, but you had already bought them and you seemed happy with em...Besides, you never listen to me anyway..

i don't know what aftermarket seats are worth, i know real, OEM CF GT3 seats will be
way more pricey then 80'ies Sports seats... by a factor of at least 4

You posted score for 1 grand, i figured to each his own.I assumed you must have known they weren't original Porsche CF seats...

I have once sold Sport leather seats, with the big bolsters for less then a grand.... they were in perfect nick...

I'm not even sure why you say Recaro seats, the ones you showed look like Porsche GT3 seats..
New, they go for about 5 grand for 2 seats...

And i think your nucking futs to pay that kind of money and put those in a 3.2 Carrera.
It don't look right, it ain't worth that kind of money

They come from some kind of rich playboy who doesn't really need the money.
That's why I thought they were so cheap...
I prefer Recaro PP but these were such a good deal (I thought) that I couldn't let it go.
Lesson learned, no harm no foul, I didn't loose any money over it, just a little bruise on my ego...
Ah well, more money for HP cause this dough is going back in my engine budget.

big bolster seats for less than a grand?? Damn, were they black by any chance??
How long was this ago??
I've been looking but they're hard to come by, it seems.

(you're probably right on the nucking futs part...)
