@GH85Carrera: The flying is fun. The studying is not. So much stuff to learn. Expensive, yes. One day I'll find a cheap hobby.

Our pilot was happy to have the weekend off.

I tease him about really wanting to do another cross country. In the last few months he has flown our Cessna 206 the far northwest North Dakota, Savannah GA, Corpus Christie TX and all the states in between. Then just for fun he flew his personal 210 to Oshkosh. He has flown over 600 hrs so far in 2010.

With a pencil and a scrap of paper you can do some pretty good ciphering. Do those gazantas and throw in some naughts and you might get your post count to go up to match Sidney

Hey guys,

had a pretty bad day today. Nothing work-related, personal stuff.
Went into a conversation/discussion that I thought at first glance was going ok but it was not, not at all. It ended in disaster.
I don't want to get into too many details, but I'm beat down, mentally, beat down good.

I need to make up my mind, make a decision, decide on something that is, most likely, already a thing of the past.
I'm already too late. Ain't that a bytch...

Whatever I decide, I'm fuched. Even if I run away from it, fuched...

This situation sucks, because I'm usually a hang loose, laid back, don't worry 'bout nothing kinda guy.
It doesn't happen to me very often and when it does, I am unprepared.

Sorry to hear about your problems G-man. I think it was John Lennon that said ”Life is what happens while you are making other plans.”

Good luck finding the best solution.

i think i almost died today.

i had the wife's subaru jacked up to change the brake pads. the jack slipped out just after i pulled my head out of the wheel well. the car was caught by the wheel ramp i had under the body rail, but the jack when careening into the wheel well area. at the very least, i would have been seriously hurt. it scared the **** out me.

then, i did the other side. this time, i put it up in the air, put the wheel ramp under the rail with a chunk of two by four. no sooner do i have the wheel off and THAT side falls onto the ramp.

i've been thinking, lately, due to some really close experiences, that maybe i missed something at church.

Nyor, sounds like you need to use less lubrication before attempting heavy lifting.

G, sounds like you need to share some of Nyor's lubrication. When I get into a situation where I am fuched if I do fuched if I don't, I just say Fuch it and do what I want. Doesn't really help with the stress of basically being fuched though.

Back when I was 18 and knew everything I scared the crap out of myself when the car moved and partially fell while on a jack. After that I will not put any body part under the mass of the car unless it is on solid jack stands. NO exceptions. I will change a flat tire using just my floor jack but I don’t put my fingers under the tire.

I am glad you are OK. I expect a beer out of you in 22 months

When I jack up a car and work on it when the wheels off, I put it all the car up and then put the wheels under the car with me.
