I've worn shorts in those conditions before. I wear a jacket and shoes, but with all the years of shorts-wearing my legs are fine with cold.

So I'm in an english literature class this quarter. There is a midterm essay and a final essay that are pretty much all the grade. I just did the midterm. You can choose a topic from a list. I did mine on stuff in "The Sorrows of Young Werther". I read the wiki stuff on it and got side tracked into Goethe, Faust, Sturm und Drang, and Weimar Classicism. I actually had some fun getting in touch with my inner Teuton/ old German philosopher dude.

This is the first essay I have written since the SAT 5 paragrapher. Everything else has been technical writing (memos) and lab reports. It wasn't so bad.

I still haven't read any of the books yet. Maybe I will get around to it sometime. I just have way too much engineering stuff to do. No time to read Jane Austen.

Did you not have to take an English composition class?

Not that I remember.

I took Technical Writing for Engineers freshman year, then I took a Public Speaking class a year and a half ago I think. That's been it so far.

Wow, every major here is required to take English compostion 1+2... I have clepped Comp 1, and am lined up to knock out the second one. Basically that will show as a pass on my transcript and I don't have to take the class. As a business major I have to take public speaking and Business communications, which I am in right now....

I do not think I have any English courses remaining. I am hoping to take Music of the 60's next quarter, plus a philosophy course sometime, and an easy political science class. That completes my GE areas. I think.

I had AP English stuff in HS, and some AP Macroeconomics, and some AP European History, and so I think that may have helped. I know I get to take a much less rigorous POLS class because of the AP credit.

There is a graduation writing requirement. Some classes fulfill it, but otherwise you write one big long essay, as I understand it. I will do it when the time comes.

I took a music and philosphy class, the music was a bit dull, but I enjoyed the philosophy.

There is no exit essay here, just the classes....

I guess that 'splains it.

What kind of music did they cover?

I like most classical and rock music. No rap, and not into country. So I think I can handle pretty much whatever they cover in this class and love it.

Got my Steppenwolf T-shirt ready!

Music started with the classical and worked through the decades... I don't remember much as I slept everyday. She gave us good study guides though, so I would read what I needed to know from the book and kick the test in the ass....

Didn't hurt that the lady that taught the class used to be the music teacher at my elementary school, and she loved me back then... I think I could have gotten away with about anything in there....

OK, peace out ya'lls. I gotta get ahead on my homework so I can go watch the racing this Saturday. I hope Regan's car is compliant with the rules now.

Tonight is heat transfer night. Yay! (That should be in green.)
