I bought a new 87 Jeep Cherokee. I was base model and didn't have cruise or a rear window defogger. I was putting a lot of highway miles and after bout 6 months asked service dept what it would cost to put cruise control and rear window defogger, $2000. Walked into showroom and told the sales manager if they had a Cherokee with cruise and defogger for my 87 plus $2000 I would sign the papers. Drove off in a year newer 88 Jeep Cherokee Limited (every option available up to and including cruise and defogger).

Even worse he comes pre-equip'd with hand. Company manual says "fold fingers in stick thumb out and hitch a ride"

We'll, I'll chime in. I appreciate stijns '*****ing' I'm nit sure what's happening, but over the last few years BMW seems to be on a bit of a downward spiral....

Cruise control = a different steering wheel. but it also means automatic distance from the car in front of ya, so some kind of radar.. And if the wiring loom ain't installed, they can't legally install that kind of thing.

My opinion is the downward spiral started with the Bangle styling.
Before you get too bent on the handling, check your tire pressure. My 3 Series was very sensitive to tire pressure. Too high or too low and it handled horribly.

i could try pumping em up past spec to see what that does.. But i doubt it will fix the soft suspension and electric power steering rack ....(note Bf1 had one of those too, but it was a better version of it)

When I got my Boxster S it didn't have the on-board computer readout.
It required a new stalk assembly that had the extra stalk for controlling the computer. AND the wiring was already in the loom to hook it up. Dealer did the installation and hookup using instructions downloaded from the internets.

Come to think of it, when I got my 3 series it did not have HomeLink garage door opener. I bought the switch thing and again, the wiring was in the loom to hook it up.

Have you checked your tire pressures?

I've been slacking lately. I had to adress the 3 weeks of homework backlog I had accumulated by working on the FSAE car so much in the first part of the quarter. And I had the race on Saturday and travel on Friday and Sunday. Not much time. I need to get ahead this week too so I can go to the POC race on this Saturday but I will try to do what I can on the meeting women front.

When visiting a friend in Austin we went to an Apple Store. He was asking questions of a salesperson and I was getting bored. I went around to ALL the computers and used the Photobooth program to put closeups of different parts of my face as the desktop background of each computer. So, yes, I would push the button.

I hadn't , assuming they would be done right at the dealership(never had any complaints about their mechanics)...But to be sure, checked the pressures , they are by the book.
So to put this to rest, i took out the car, and took it out on the rally roads. Still breaking in the engine, but i had enough revs and torques for some angry driving. So i did just that. In my opinion, it's not the tires.. it's not the steering either. It's the bloody suspension. i got some serious speeds going, and it got through all the turns ok but the truth is : I got so seasick by the time i got hom, i opened the door, stuck my head out and fully expected to puke my guts out. It's to soft That's what's wrong with it.. the old one felt like a 944.. no roll You stuck it in a turn, it planted itself and took it. The new one rolls like a people carrier..it constantly shifts it's weight around and rolls like a friggin boat.

In fact, on the old one, it was the same, but on dry conditions it was near impossible to get ABS to trigger. now the new one, under heavy braking on concrete or tarmac, dry conditions, it goes off all the time

Dsc is.....interesting on the jag.........it controls everything.......no limited slip, just has a separate piston on the rear brake to modify output......also serves as the parking brake......Dsc also controls the suspension and throttle input........
So, anyone want to take bets on when I get formally excommunicated??? |

BMW does the same, if you over cook a turn, it will figure it out and brake the inside wheel so you come out of it without having to catch the slide...
booooooring With the old one, i always turned it off.. With the new one... won't, cause i can't drive like that anymore without getting seasick. Besides, drifting and sliding ain't a good idea when the suspension ![]() is chucking weight around whenever it feels like it.
