Hi gang. I tweaked my back this AM, seemingly doing nothing. Looks like today's gonna suck.

We're cooling off some today. It's feeling more like fall. I like it.

I went for xrays yesterday on my neck, it has been giving me pain for years, but have been putting up with it, don't know how to read xrays, but not sure that it looks good, go back to the doc on Monday to see what he thinks. Like the way you get your xrays on a cd these days, sure beats the old film things. Suppose you can tell its been a few years since I had an xray!

But Jim I can tweak my back just by getting up in the morning, I think its called "our generation" (more like degeneration),

Morning all

Hi Azzy.

Yeah, this getting older (or just plain old) sucks in some ways. Oh well.

My coffee IS fine, I tried a lot of wine over the years and never once thought "that is good" I just don't care much for wine. There is no such thing as a fine cigar, that is fine RAP music, impossible. Chocolate is just an occasional snack and if it was unavailable I really would not care. Fine cars are fun, and I love my two mid 80s cars but compared to a new 911 my cars are old jalopies.

I do like the good things. I have been served fancy fru fru coffee in restaurants and fiends homes, so far they all suck compared to plain black Folger's. I don't want to have coffee that is so bad it takes a lot of cream, sugar and other flavorings to make it drinkable. Coffee, black hold the fru fru.

That is just my opinion I could be wrong, but I doubt that.

Good morning folks.

We had a customer that wants another print of their facility. We flew it back in 2001. The plant had a lot of product on the ground, the grass was green and the parking lot had been refurbished. Now they keep less product on grounds and the parking lot is beat up. So they want the old image. No sweat I scanned the old negative. It is amazing how good the image looks.

We had very limited RAID storage back then so we copied the old image to DVD. That DVD is unreadable. So much for long term storage of digital data. The negative is still 100%. We have other negatives going back to to 1947 when the company opened.

priceless, Glen, don't hold back now.

I would like a really new 911, but I do love the old cars, I like the style, yes the newer cars do have style, but they also have a very big price tag, above my budget, and they depreciate very quickly, so I just can't see the value.

But must say I did look at a few GT3s that are a few years old, and they are just so much cheaper than in Oz, but the whole conversion of the LHD to RHD turned me off. If it's older than 30 I don't have to bother, unless I have nothing else to do, and I want to do it, a LHD in Oz I can live with.

Morning David,

Glad to hear the back is getting better. Don't go and find that pot hole again, you never know it might go the other way this time.

Well, my work day is ****ed. On a two lane road just outside of Charleston and about to get some work in, a passing truck had the gate on his trailer fall open, kick up road debris and cause this

Insurance was being really dou hey until I dropped a few fun legal terms......still dragging their feet, I've lost a day of work and am stranded out of town.....

I've experienced 3 separate catastrophic data storage failures. Backups and even hard drive recovery did not help. In all three cases the problem that caused the failure was copied to the backups and corrupted the backup data along with the primary data. That included tape backup, hard drives, raid arrays, magnetic disks, CDs, and DVD backup storage.

When i was responsible for artwork at the company I work for, I did yearly hard copy backups and storage of all drawings and photos. The hard copies were also stored off-site. They do not do that any more, even after losing some product mechanical drawings.
