She thought our weather was strange having grown up in the desert. I told her her weather was boring.

We get some hot, humid days now and then but not as often as the coastal SE.
When I spent the week in Savannah, GA in August, I experienced off the charts heat and humidity. Nothing else but a sauna can come close. It was 100 degrees and 99% humidity everyday. I got up before sunrise to go wash my car. The sun was just starting to peek out and by the time I was done I was totally wet with sweat. Back at the room I took a cold shower and was still sweating. My was mitt never did dry out after a week of sitting in front of the air conditioner.

One day the heat index was 125!

When I drove to Roebling Road I knew it was going to be a hot day. I had the AC cranked up to max early in the morning. The outside of the car was wet with condensation. My car looked like a while beer can. Even the roof was wet. Only the engine compartment and trunk were dry.

Only south Louisiana can compete with that level of heat humidity.

Houston is in the same boat as south Louisiana. I hated living in Houston and working in Louisiana! My sunglasses would fog over when I walked outside at 7am!

I think that heat index was a little low. I have been in 125* days out in the sun and while it hurts like sitting in a nice dry oven, the 100*/99% days are miserable.

I cant use how much I sweat as a guide. I used to ride snowmobiles with my face shield up and jacket partially unzipped. During deer season if I walk at all I wear a sweatshirt and a blaze orange hunting vest and still end up wet. Though one year it was -25 I didn't sweat walking. It was just about right for walking but miserable sitting.

I will stick with our weather here. I hated visiting Florida in the summer. San Diego has nice year round weather and is a nice place to visit.

Yea, San Diego is amazing. It would feel hot in the sun but step into the shade and it is very comfortable. One of my buddies went to play golf and he was worried the course was closed because there were so few cars in the parking lot. He asked about the low turnout and they said no one likes to play when it is hot. It was 82. He told them he had played golf the week before in Dallas and it was 115. 82 is jacket weather.

The last night for Parade was the victory banquet. We had dinner for a large group on the deck of the aircraft carrier Midway. Where else can you eat outside on the deck of an aircraft carrier and feel like you are in a air conditioned room with 72 degree low humidity and no wind. It was just awesome.

The talk about San Diego made me peek at the weather forecast in my community which I can, at the moment, only follow from afar. Lows are 50-55, highs are 65-70 for the next 10 days. Afternoon breezes of up to 10-12 mph. Oh man, I'm getting itchy to get back there!

Oh my goodness, beautiful spring weather outside not too cold, not too hot and here you guys are talking about sweltering summer heat.

You can always put more clothes on when it's cold, but you have a limit to how much you can take off before they put you in a cell with a bunch of other sweaty men.

One of the things I miss about living on the west side is visiting San Diego. I wouldn't want to live there as it is too big and way too expensive. If I had to live in a big city, SD would be my first choice but I don't think I could do big city life. I did live in town a couple times as an adult and didn't care for it. The town of 3500 was bad enough, but the town of 50k I did not care for at all.

Where I live now is a 20 minute commute to work. The same as someone living across town but I only have a few miles of light in town traffic, not the heavy stuff in the main part.

So Joe, situation normal...

I've lived and worked within 10 miles of where I am right now since I was 1 years old with the only exception being when I went to college.

I've worked for the company I work for now since I was 12 in 1972 (mowed the yard), but they only count the time after I started working full time in 1981 for years of service. Next year is my official 35th anniversary.

I've lived in 10 states. I'm looking forward to returning to one of them, CA.

Aside from 1992-2007 I have lived in the same town, well, outside of it now but in the same township. Career path though...

For over 20 years I lived less than a mile from work. My typical commute was 2 minutes. 3 minutes on heavy traffic trips or if the school zone lights were flashing. One day in the summer I tried for a record. I backed my 914 into the garage the night before. I opened the garage door and went in to start the car. I started the clock as I turned the ignition key. I was hitting the garage door button as I was just clear of the door. No school zone time of the year. I turned the ignition off at work in my parking spot 55 seconds later. There was some speeding involved but that was over 33 years ago so the statute of limitations has expired.

Now it takes me 12 minutes each way on average.

I thought there were only two states, asleep and awake. I'm floundering between those two right now.

But of course. Brewers as well, but not the Bucks. Larry Bird made me a Celtics fan and I did/do not like Herb Kohl.

When I lived in Dyersville I had a 47 second commute if I walked slow. I lived in a complex across the parking lot to the back door of where I worked. Only drove the car on weekends or to play league volleyball games.

I'm a Packers fan, but not a fan of the Brewers. I used to be a Braves fan many, many years ago.

Have been to many baseball games at the old County Stadium but have only been to Lambeau once and that wasn't for a football game, just a tour. Have not been to Miller Park but I hear it is nice. I took my wife to Jack Murphy stadium for her birthday back in '99 or so. She isn't a baseball fan but liked the experience. I paid an extra $2 a ticket and someone came to take your order for food and drinks instead of having to wait in line so she missed out on that part.

Badger fan as well. My sister graduated from UW-Madison.

So what made you a Packer fan?

Evening Y'all
We were slow as snot today, so I went back to building an engine I put on the back burner, got that finished so the boss said just clean up. I doubt he will ever make that mistake ever again. He has/had a project car sitting off behind where I work and it was just bugging me to have that much space taken up for nothing. He quit working on it about ten years ago. Yeah I pushed it outside. It is so much roomier in there. He came walking in and very loudly yelled, where is my car. I just pointed out to the back lot. I am such a douche.
I got home and found a mess of 556 green tips sitting on my coffee table, Twas a gift from Stijn, he is one of those folks you can not do a favor for.
