That roof blowing out thing is why RUF welded the roof solid on the yellowbird. I seem to remember RUF stating the roof flew out at 212mph but I could be wrong. Anyway, you would have a hard time getting me in a 911 style body for over 200 with a sun roof.

Working someplace that makes fast stuff will be FUN!

Just don't let them use a car you own as a test mule promising they will fix stuff then tell you they won't work on your car anymore when they realize what they did to it made it grenade. Completely ruins friendships to say the least.

Sales and account development. Primarily VAG markets, but also tuning and exhaust products for all markets

So...take the old Bug and put the new Hot Rodded Beetle stuff in it. Or put the Bug body on a new Beetle.
Kinda like the Dung Beetle, but dompletely different. Look classic with new stuff.

Good 'n' Early Morning.

Wow, Thought 928 prices had leveled off. All the 928 guys are talking about a 1994 928 GTS that just sold for $120K. It was a nice car but wasn't low mileage, completely original, or a special color (just black). $120K was the hammer price so buyer paid closer to $132K. That $7K I'm spending on the ring refresh and tune up mods seems more like a good investment than maintenance and upgrade cost. Mechanic better finish soon or I won't be able to afford to drive mine.

There is an older guy that has gotten real active with the 928 group in the Dallas area in the last 3 years. Kind of as a whim/joke he made a low bid on a very nice low mileage 84 928. He says he only attended the auction because he was bored and feeling down after his wife had just passed. Nobody else bid on it and he got it. He got in touch with the Dallas group. Everyone was impressed with the very nice low mileage example. He brought all the maintenance up-to-date, and was going to keep it for it's increasing collector value. Then he made a huge mistake. He drove it to a 928 event, mostly to show it off. But found he really liked driving it and being part of the 928 group so much he is driving the wheels off it. Says he doesn't care what the value does he is enjoying it.

In the last year he jumped into the senior on-line dating thing. His stories are absolutely hilarious.

G'day gents.

I got asked the question today, 'if you chewed on the arse of an indian chick, would it taste like curry?' I dunno I said.

Well, I reckon that's got to be one of lifes great mysteries. What's say the brains trust?

The answer to that question is like the answer in the bridge crossing in Monty Python's Holy Grail...

Casino Indian or Convenience Store Indian?

If the latter, there are 3 types...The ones with the red dot are electric start. With the turbine are pull start. Without either are kick start.

Ate lunch at a friendly local cafe often. The owner always came around a talked to people and amazingly remembered their names, work, family, etc. Nice Guy.

One day when he came up and asked if anyone would be offended by a racial joke. I said I wouldn't as long it was about minorities. He cracked up, about suffocated laughing, said that was the funniest thing he's heard, and ended up never telling us his joke.

He did manage to hit 230 in that car though!
Reminds me of the story Richard Hudgins (designed JBL Cobras, owned VIR for a while) told when he was racing SCCA. He was driving a Camaro at Daytona and the windscreen blew in at just over 200mph.

Joe, ever watch "The Gods Must Be Crazy II". Sounds like a similar situation, though the movie played the results for laughs and they were native African kids.

Brent, the shop focuses mostly on chip tuning and turbos... Not much they could do to the bug!

No, but you could after hours and it would save you $200 a month on the storage!

You can put a turbo on it, right? 5-6psi?
