Want security? Forget the alrm, just buy the alarm company's sign and stick it in front of the house. it'll probably do more good than the alarm. Or move to a nice neighborhood.

I have one. The main use we found was when our teen aged daughters came home to an empty house from school. If they had to turn off the alarm chances are the bad guy wasn't hiding in the closet. It did get tripped a few times by door openings and such when we were home. Response was always adequate and the audible alarm would cause you to leave immediately.

I actually do live in a safe neighborhood in a safe town, and I've got a dog and a gun. But if an alarm makes the wifey feel more happy....

On the news tonight.
Serial rapist in E. Dallas. Link "Police said they believe the man has so far sexually assaulted only one of his victims. Investigators suspect he may have been scared off by other people in the house or an alarm system in the other cases.'

I have a new alarm system now. During the day there is nothing of much value in the house. At night there is an Armed Nat guard guy that I live with....
