I mean SERIOUSLY dude. Put the same upgrades in the vette, and try again. (For all we know, the vette was merilly cruising around and was not even pushing his car hard)

And -again- this thread, and my comments, were about MINIS, not mini-coopers.
(Not that mini coopers aren't equally ghey....they are.)

How's that reading comprehension working out for you big guy?

PS: My car is very competitive with C-5 vettes on the street. Then again, i really don't care what can beat me on the track, that carries very little importance to me, i'm far more concerned with it's look, sound, and fun factor. But hey, feel free to continue to measure your penis size by what other car you think you beat on the track with your full race suspension and race brakes when the other dude may not even have been trying very hard. LOL....
The vette had work done too friendo, furthermore he was on R-compounds and I was on street tires. Best I could tell he had suspension work and some bolt on upgrades. His stance was very low.

He also stuffed his car into the infield trying to outrun an M3 in turn 1 of the outlap. Trust me, he was out there racing everyone and I am pretty sure he thought the ghey Mini's would be no match for him.

But, whatever you have to tell yourself to make you feel better go for it.

It seems I am not the minority here either, you are indeed making an ass out of yourself, I just thought I would be nice and let you know. Keep it up, I will not remind you anymore.

FYI - I do not think any capable sports car is gay. I love the Miata line and would love to get a 1st gen and drop a turbo rotary in it. Its on my list of things to do one day. I wish I could get tired of my RX7 but it has been my car of choice over my MINI, my Porsche and my Mustang over the last 10 years. I have never owned a single car 10 years like I have this one. I just never get tired of it.

A LOT of people think the Miata is ghey, yet on the track they shine. Gheyness is about more than what a car is capable of on a course that is best suited to it's light weight and miniscule wheelbase.
Not all of us define our manhood by what we drive. Or what we choose to post on the internet.

I'm afraid that if I had an early mini, I'd want to do something like this to it:

eeh, you wouldn't need to do anything, other then measure it up, and make a cast of the body, to make the FG shell..

I wonder if there is any original Mini part to be found on that thing...apart from maybe taillights

A Co workers is planning on doing that with a Fiat 500.. although i doubt it will handle as well is this thing , he's not a racer, just wants to make something "stoopid/scary light and overpowered"

There's the tube frame zed cars that just look like minis... but there are those out there that just drop in a bike engine, chain & sprocket, some bracketry and wiring and off you go. You wouldn't get the cornering performance of something like the tube frame car but straight like speed could be similar.

After driving many bike engined sports racers I really want to build a street car with a Busa engine.

I think my present to myself after I get the PhD is a RWD toyota starlet with a 200HP Busa engine.

That's cool if you are. It brings character to an otherwise stodgy old dude who lives life in quarter miles and gold rope chains.

Or am I unfairly stereotyping you as you have others and their choice of cars?
Gee, i was not aware the 928 was part of the "thick rope chain" italian scene. Or the quarter mile scene for that matter.

Why are you chastising me about stereotyping the ghey little mini while at the same time insulting italians and quarter mile enthusiats?

For the record, the only piece of jewelry i own is my old infantry ring. I must admit that i think men who wear excessive jewelry are ghey too.

So what you're telling me is that homey couldn't drive.

So were you "all over" the m3 too? These other companies should just all close their doors and bow down in awe to the uber ghey prowess of the mini!

Just be sure to remind everyone who ever makes a negative harley, gold rope chain, vette, miata, or any other negative comment that they're "making asses of themselves."

I don't think i'm making an ass of myself at all, i think you're just being sensitive over me making fun of your tiny little shoebox shaped ghey chariot.

Oh...my...god, what sex appeal! Look at those curves!!! WOWEEEEEEWOW!!! LOL...

Asses seldom do. I've always thought 928's look like big AMC Pacers. Chew on that one.

I'm not taking sides. I like the mini's and have seen way to many of them beat up on other cars at autocrosses to dismiss them.

The 928's can be two facers... look good from some angles but not others. But just for my own jollies I'll quote some pics from the car pic thread that I found a while back- this is honestly one of the sexiest Porsche street cars I've ever seen. If only they all came like this from the factory:
