I seem to remember every American car in '75 was horrendously ugly, even the Corvette.
Porsches were cool, but even as a kid and knowing very little about the car, I recall hating the huge bumper pads on the back of the '75. I remember my dad saying, "Get rich and buy me a turbo Porsche, which he pronounced "Porsch." "Sure, Dad, I'll buy you one, What scale do you want it in? 1/25 or 1/18?" SmileWavy |
I was only six. dont remember much....

Jan 1975, lost my job and was unemployed for 8 months, Oct 1975 got hired and worked in the company until Jan 2004 until I retired as VP Sales. So 1975 has some real significance to me, the worst of times and the best of times!
I had a four year old son, wife, mortgage, car payments and house expenses, nobody gave me a penny. I did some pretty nasty jobs short term to get by. No freakin economic stimulus package back then. You want sympathy because you are out work today, go talk to someone else. You want it bad enough you can get by until things improve. |
In '75, I was 3 and don't remember much except riding around one of these babies...

thinking about the draft and which service i would join. got the hell out of jesuit high school here. split home to enroll in jesuit college(regis) started summer school. met 2 chicks(blonde/brunette) that REALLY LIKED EACH OTHER and went camping with them ALOT, and was the cream filled middle.
man i didnt give a crap about nothing. life was great, no cares/worrys/2 chicks all over me/a dirt bike-IT-175/husky 250/campus meal ticket/.01 cent 7oz beer draws of 3.2 coors/no parents/ and all i had to do was show up to class. then i joined the ski team.....................and fun became WORK! competed GS(giant slalom) for 3 years and completely burnt out on it. too many days of whiteouts/sub freezing temps/crashes/trees/burns/rocks/snags/broken lifts/night sking at eldora freezing my fricking ass off. every single day come snow or shine. but i met a hell of alot of snow bunnies and spent quite abit of time enjoying them. lesson learned.............i will never teach a woman to ski again as long as i live. |

17 and stupid. didnt know where things were going. despite dad pushing me for army(he was army) and i knew i didnt want to be a ground pounder.
was accepted to loyola(kalif) and regis(colorado). came down to surfing or the snow. decided on rocky mtn highs. never regretted it. for 3 years i wasnt on campus in my dorm or when i moved off campus, that i spent a weekend, not camping/dirt biking/fishing/ice racing roommates ghia/4 wheeling/snow skiing/ chasing girls or hiding from them. i wish my life was that energetic now. im feeling all those moguls and all the dirt bikeing at my ripe age. |
