guy has now been released

looks like they are still looking for evidence -- they may even want to follow him and see what he does now that he's "free" - it is surprising how many of these guys incriminate themselves that way

he could even be innocent...

Of course, I hope they find the perp and nail him. But I don't understand why anyone who could possibly be considered a suspect would talk to the police. I'd keep my lips sealed and wouldn't talk even with a lawyer present. If they have enough evidence, they'd be able to hold me. Otherwise, I walk. Most perps talk their way into prison. I don't get it. Silence is golden.

The DNA will tell the tale. Apparently he had scratch marks on him.. And him on video searching around the building - apparently for a place to hide the body. They had some connection before this murder - he took her to task about some lab thing.

I've been following this story too. How sad and what a waste.

The fact that the perp was inside a secure building either means the perp a) snuck in/out or b) the perp is one of the staff. Once they examine the security tapes and log in the patterns of who went where, along with DNA evidence, they should be able to examine each staff person in the building at the time.

My first reaction when my brother emailed me the story was, "check the HVAC ducts" (based on recent killings in large buildings). I wasn't too far off.
