02 Mitsubishi Lancer Q......

It's waaay off topic, I know.

SonIL says timing belt broke. Is the 2.0 litre an interference engine? Can't seem to get a straight answer from the rice burner guys. They can tell me what PSI diff they are pulling on a turbo installed from a Kenworth, and how big a fart can will fit on it, but nothing real about a box stock engine.

It's 400 Miles away, and I may have to go change it. The 'while you're in there list' (very similar to my 911) includes the tensioner, water pump, and a guide.

TIA.....

I hate to admit knowing anything about those cars but I'm pretty sure I heard that they switched to a timing chain for the Evo 9 or 10 or something. So ya, the older ones are interference with polymer belts.

Hes right. You know that the 4g63 is a really good motor to build off of. There are some crazy setups out there for that motor. The 4g63 is a really popular motor so there should be PLENTY of parts available.

I did actually register for the Mitsu forum. Can't post for several days cuz I'm new. What I was able to find out is that the belt change was relatively easy, that the dealers get $400-$700 for the basic job. Throw in a water pump and tensioner and it goes to a thou.

If the belt broke, who knows what clashed with what. I doubt the entire car is worth a thou. (I've seen it).

Which forum?? I use Evolutionm.net, which has a lot of good info if you use the search feature. I'm registered over there. I wanted some upgraded brakes for the dd.

I assure you that a Lancer Turbo is worth more than a thousand bucks.

Nope, just a standard Lancer. It was Mitsubishi-Forums.com

Kbb.com would give you a good idea of the actual value and answer your "is it worth it" question.
