I don't really care that much about appearances. They are comfortable, especially in hot socal weather, I can carry my wallet, keys and cell phone without any discomfort while driving or riding, and they are tough. Plus I fit right in when I'm hanging with the our SMEs

Lighter and cooler than jeans, don't take up an entire carryon bag when folded, more freedom of movement, don't need a belt, and can get them in basic gray. I wait for the sale and buy my year's supply.

I know, the website is way too granola-y, but when I started wearing them 15 years ago, they were mostly worn by climbers. Not sure when they became so New Age.
Those are all for little short legged fellas.

At least they come in various sizes. Might have to give a pair a shot.

Of course, I hope she doesn't read this, or I'll be doing my own shopping....

Me buying shoes :

walk in , look, pick, ask to get the size, try , test walk, no i'll keep em on, pay, walk out.

I do this each time, same store, always under 5 minutes.

I don't even enter if it looks like they're busy and response time might be affected.

That system has been working for me also.

Men buy, women shop. I get my wife to pick up my Levi jeans. I even wear black ones now as 'dress' work pants. Same size for 10+ years. For shirts . . . I ask for them as gifts for every occasion.

My wife hates the mall almost as much as I do. She is drawn like a moth to a light to a nearby Coldwater Creek. They send us at least two catalogs a week. She gets several emails from them as well. It must work because she is in their store on a regular basis. She buys clothes and I buy car parts.

I'm with Steve. None of those websites have pants with enough inseam. Gotta be at least a 36, 38 if I want some room.

I get my Levi's from Rural King. Apparently there are some Fat Farmers out there. While I'm there I can also pick me up an axe for some good ole fashioned zombie killin'.

Maybe it's just a Seattle thing, but there's a big Levi's store downtown with lots of fitting rooms, and the fitting rooms have big benches and plenty of room, and my wife and I kinda like going there, and we always make a purchase.

If you know what I mean..

Back when young, attractive women bought jeans from Levi stores, I was happy to buy mine myself. Now that they don't, I have my wife buy mine for me. That also works with socks, shirts and whatever else I need. For nice clothes, my tailor is happy to come to my house.

So, the malls are just a distant memory for me.
