Another barn find

Don't know if its luck or persistence, but I have another barn find in the garage now.

This 75 914 was in dry storage for about 20 years. Can't find any rust on the body. SHe just needs the fuel system cleaned. Front hood is stuck, cable broke. Records indicated she is a 43k mile car.

Wow!! That is awesome! Where you looking for another car or did it want you? We just bought a Mercedes that found us.
P.S. your floor is dirty!

You might possibly be going to hell for all of these finds....

What do you mean you can't find any rust? Well, there is obviously some surface rust on that front suspension crossmember sheetmetal cover :) I hate you.

That's awesome, man. Have fun with it.

onewhippedpuppy 12-01-2009 07:06 PM

Damn. Very nice. How do you do it?

Schumi 12-01-2009 10:13 PM

No rust? 914's left the factory with rust...

aigel 12-01-2009 11:45 PM

Very very nice but it is only a barn find if you paid less than $1000 for it! That ride is bucks! Very nice.

sixbanger 12-02-2009 07:39 AM

I have a 74 just like it. It also has 43,000 on the clock. I found it two years ago. What did you have to give for it?

jhelgesen 12-02-2009 07:42 AM

I try not to kiss and tell on car prices, but I was accused of wearing a ski mask when I left the driveway with the trailer.

sixbanger 12-02-2009 07:55 AM

Mine was a one owner. He bought it brand new. No one ever sat in the passenger seat and the ash tray has never been used. I also got it cheap. It is perfect inside and out. He did ask me if I was a collector. I said NO.

Is that the before or after picture? Nice.

porsche4life 12-02-2009 08:04 AM

You sorry dog. Have you still got that 356?

I'd say fortunately, it's a 914.

But unfortunately, it's a big bumper '75 1.8.

My first car was a 74 914 . Loved that car..quirks and all. As soon as I can afford it and have the time, I am going to get another one. Man, they handle well.
have fun,
Ben
