Rose Bowl
Go Ohio State!
Ducks go to the Rose bowl. My #2 favorite team in the nation is whoever is playing the Ducks. Doubt I'll bother watching the Bowl games...my #1 Favorite team will be playing in some toilet bowl or another...

The Beavers just kind of dried up in the second half.

Agreed...about the time the Duck put their star thug running back in the game..
Oh well, there's always next year...and Nascar begins in February.

I missed when he came in. Did they only bring him in because someone got injured? That seemed odd. "You can't play in the game because you cheap shot punched someone . . . unless someone gets injured and you're the first best off the bench." ??

Nope, their guy (#21) who ran all year was healthy at the end of the game...they brought him (#9) in for his running power when the Beavers were ahead. It worked...

Whiners.
The Ducks played like champions. On a critical 3rd and long, Oregon State QB Canfield slid to the ground well short of a first down to avoid getting hit. Late in the game on a similar 3rd and long, Jeremiah Masoli looked like he was stopped short of a first down but he lowered his shoulder and knocked the tackler on his ass and got the first down. Jeremiah Masoli has the heart of a warrior. The Oregon Ducks are Pac-10 champs!

Ducks suck. Letting that criminal play was selling out, no class. Their ghey uniform thing is bugging me too.
I'm predicting they'll get whooped big time in the rose bowl and won't see another for a decade. |

Oregon teams go to the Rose Bowl so they can lose in that setting - Calif. teams go there to win.
UO played great at the end - by great, I mean "they found a way to win" the mark of a great team. Paul apparently did not watch the game - Blount had little to do with winning the game or even making yardage, much less turning it around. It is debatable whether he should have been allowed to play - the new UO President and the NCAA reviewed the 1st year coach's decision. The real question is what should the penalty be for a 19 or 20 or 21 year old who did what he did? La Michael James was exceptional as usual - he is a freshman and I will enjoy watching him play the next few years. Masoli is just an outstanding QB - and maybe the best running back on the team. The Ducks had no defense until the 4th Q, and have never had a good defense all season - the 2o is a particular concern. I also like the OSU QB - a very cool and collected kid. The UO coach congratulated and talked to him for a good 2-3 minutes on field after the game. The Rodgers bros. (OSU backs) were exciting to watch as usual - maybe a little too exciting if you favored the Ducks. Roses clash with Orange and Black so it is very fitting that UO goes to the Rose Bowl this year. I expect the young USC QB will lead them to it next year (and the year after that, and...). UO has maybe reached the level now where they can expect to have a shot at the Rose Bowl every 5 to 8 years sammy. They will never be able to outspend the USC pretty boys and their "connections." |

In short, Oregon may not get back to the Rose Bowl very often, but they are a FUN team to watch.

BAH! The University of Oregon is NIKE's de facto professional team. I'm sure Phil Knight funds them every bit as fully as USC.
It's not just the embracing of Blount, who scored a touchdown, that pisses me off. It's the entire NIKE arrogance of it all. Oh...how many U of O players are actually from Oregon? Two. GO OHIO STATE!

Please Lord ... let Ohio State win a bowl game this year ... please.
I can't take anymore big game defeats. Hopefully THE VEST won't allow the OSU players to gain 30 lbs between now and January (remember Troy Smith?).

I can pretty much guaranty that if one of Pete Carroll's players threw a sucker punch at a player from the other team after the game was over and the other player wasn't looking, that guy would never ever wear a USC uniform again. If he did the alumni would take him out of the game if the fans didn't get him first. That's the difference between USC and the quacks. We don't put up with that crap.
That is also enough for me to stay a USC fan and despise the university of nike and their fans. No class. Sell-outs. Morally-deficient. |
