I have given thought to joining the PCA, but the nearest region is over 100 miles away. They need to form a region in Mid-Missouri.

You could look into this and get the ball rolling. This was done here in the Pacific Northwest, when the folks on the Olympic Peninsula got tired of driving to the Seattle-centric events and affairs. Best, Tom

Actually, I don't worry about the 911, but if it was as valuable and as easily stolen as the Speedster, yeah, I'd cover it up.

Angela,
I left the PCA because our local chapter prez was an ass. He is now gone and new blood is in control. There are still asses in the local but maybe the ratio of cool/not cool has improved I, like you built my cars. Totally foreign idea to most of our local pca folks. good luck! Troy |

There seems to be a nice contingent of people who want to go on DRIVES, Troy, and that definately works for me. Looks like last winter they did a tech night and a garage tour. I would have been up for both. Hope that comes to play again this winter as very soon I'll have the interior of the shop done and would LOVE to show it off!!!
By the way - I miss your car. I'm convinced that property values dropped all across the valley when that car left... angela

Since they raised the dues 10% for no apparent reason my renewal is questionable.

If you look back on the first pages of this post you will see my same response.
PCA is just what YOU make it. If you want to go to some awesome club and have everyone else do the work and sit back and have them admire your car, PCA is not for you. If you are willing to get involved and participate, the club is waiting for YOU. Yes really. I know guys with entire collections of fantastic Porsches. They are very down to earth normal car guys. I have seen the gold chain hairy chest guys come and go. PCA is what you make it. If you want to sit back and throw rocks, go ahead. If you want a great club, come on down and get INVOLVED!

My chapter is a driving one, meaning we do more drives than social events.
Most of the members do their own work and are car guys/gals. I've met folks that I wouldn't have had I not owned the 911. I consider them friends now. Another Pelican(Chemman) and our spouses hosted the Fall Color Tour this year. Sure, we were nervous, being our first event and all, but we had great responses from the members. I have never NOT felt welcome at any event involving the PCAand or our group, the mighty Rally Sport Region.

It would be hard to turn it into something tech oriented after years of driving tours and dinner at board meetings. Anyone with similar interests is long gone.

Was it in Springfield? Thats where I started in the PCA and a good group of people there. Not sure that any of my old gang would be there now.

Yep in Springfield; a great bunch of people. There are several that have been there for a long time, so you may know them...

Let me know the next time you head down there, will see if I can get ahold of them and get you an even better reception! I lived there for a long time and its a nice place to live until winter hits!
